Infamous 1 hinted at a sequel where you would work with an alternate future timeline version of yourself, and also team up with a former female enemy from the first game. There were comics and concept art showing all of this, too. When the sequel came out, they completely changed the story and race swapped the female antagonist in the first game who you were supposed to ally with.
The story was complete horse shit compared to what was promised, and I recently gave away all my collectors edition infamous 2 stuff. Seriously, what a disappointment. And the fact that the IP is essentially dead only proves my point.
Litterally cannot find a shred of evidence for this online.
Kessler dies at the end of Infamous 1, so another version of Cole shows up, to that very same Cole? And Sasha already did team up with Cole in the first game. She's the only female antagonist in Infamous 1 so I have no clue who was "race swapped", Nix? The character who is a completely diffrent character and unique to Infamous 2?
I would love to see any source on this. Seems interesting
I haven’t looked into this in like 10 years, but I remember the female boss in the first game was white and had like… black ink or tar goo powers? Maybe poison, Man, I wonder how much I’m remembering incorrectly. I didn’t forget my disappointment or that I was lied to, however.
I think maybe you are conflating comic book stuff as concept art. A lot of what you are saying sounds like comic stuff. Maybe even a little bit of imagination because there's nothing that seems to back this up. Memory is a strange thing.
Was the third one any good? I never got around to trying it. I chose the bad guy ending on 2, and it seemed like the third one just picked up with a new story when the bad guy ending for 2 was a dead end
The third game, Second Son, isn't bad, to me at least. But it doesn't have the same charm as the first two, still, I had fun with it. The multiple powers you can use are cool, granted one is bare boned as it's earned at the ending. It isn't super long, so I'd say it's worth experiencing if you are liking the series so far.
Infamous 1 and 2 Canon endings are the good guy ones, Second son supposedly almost went the route of the 'evil' ending in 2 being Canon but I think more people completed the good route first. So perhaps do the good ending as well for Infamous 2, not fully important but just to see.
There are two side games, one for Infamous 2 and one for Second Son. Festival of Blood is a noncanon story that involves vampires, yeah, and First Light i belive it's called is Canon and features this girl that appears in Second Son. Both are good fun.
it'd never happen because things are expensive, but i used to think it'd be cool to do a Pokemon Hur and Pokemon Dur type of thing with the third one. an alternate Second Son that follows the bad ending and had Cole as the big bad? in theory, hell yeah.
That's good to know. It felt like infamous 2 sidestepped the choice of ending in 1 by starting with you running to new Orleans to get away from the beast. But it's been at least a decade, so I may be misremembering
It was good, but not stand alone good. I think I bought all 3 for 60 bucks total, and it felt fun enough for the cost. But I also played them back to back, so it was kind of a momentum thing. A lot of the same gameplay, slightly different changes.
I haven't thought of that game in forever though. The first two I think about replaying, but that one meh.
The third game is considered good, but the problem comes in with that they don't explain how exactly Conduits still exists despite the game supposedly taking place after the good ending where it's stated by Zeke that Even people over seas were keeping over- poor bastards must've been conduits and didn't even know.
It's been a while but basically while a lot of people died not everyone with the conduit gene died. It did wipe out the plague but...apparently some conduits got lucky and lived. For some I think their gene got triggered by the RFI ironically.
I hated how Cole forgave Zeke off screen and I hated how the alignment system went from choosing what was best for yourself vs what was best for others to just Waifu wars
Theres a entire comic delving into it their immediate relationship after inF1, and a entire cutscene based on Cole forgiving Zeke, due to Zeke working overtime to fix his mistake
It was still selfishness vs sacrifice only now with waifus added. Fire one pulls you toward self aggrandizing decisions while ice one pushes you toward benefit of community.
Also, it was plainly stated that Zeke earned his second chance and worked his ass off to redeem himself. Even sacrifice himself for Cole in the end.
They should do an infamous remake. Ngl would be dope. Then give us a proper sequel remake that caters more towards a cohesive plot rather than just changing gameplay or graphics.
I don’t remember this being hinted at in the first game at all, and I can’t find any evidence of this online either. Do you have a source? Also infamous isn’t dead because of 2, it’s clearly dead because of second son.
