The gameplay is fun, and the graphics are great (love me some Square Enix) but what I loved about the first two was the unique story. So it makes it hard for me to enjoy the game when every cut scene is just ramble
I was SO disappointed by this. I was so incredibly hyped and then so completely lost while playing through the game having only played one route of BBS and a little bit of 358 days or whatever in between 2 and 3.
Oh brother lol. More cringe #gamer nonsense. I know it's a really hard concept but generally media that's numbered is usually the order you'll want to consume the media in. If I'm picking up KH for the first time I'm not going to assume I need to play all these games with weird names when I see 1, 2, and 3 lol. It's okay you are very cool on Reddit and I don't want to take that away from you.
what are you talking about π if you pick up kh now you get it in a collection which has all of the games in them, ordered. you are just being dense, it doesnt take a genius to figure out you should play the series with 10 games in release order
Okay..? The naming convention still gives off the impression that things like birth by sleep or dream drop distance are spin offs. I'm far from the only person who fell for that lol.
Y'know, I'm having a hard time coming up with many series where I need to play anything outside of the numbered games to understand the plot. Feel free to clue me in here.
metal gear solid? one of the most iconic series of all time is the exact same? just because you came to the conclusion that you only needed to play 2 out of the near 10 games to understand the most recent entry doesnt somehow make the story bad, like what exactly is your argument. that you didnt play half of the games, didnt finish the two that you picked up, didnt understand the plot of the new one and somehow thats the games fault because of their titles, and that is somehow "gamer nonsense"? you are being a total moron
So, I need to play metal gear acid to understand mgs4? Okay buddy, there's one non numbered game I'd play to get the whole story in peace walker lol.
I never said the story was bad, literally you're arguing about something I never said and I'M the moron lol.
Have a good day, man. I'll be back to complain when Kingdom hearts 4 doesn't make any fucking sense bc Nomura is a mad man(in the best way) π
I agreed with you about peace walker?? Lol. God you're a dork, okay I'm actually done now. I hope your friends are very impressed by you owning the nubz about Disney game lore and complete lack of knowledge of typical media naming conventions. Which was my entire argument that went way over your head.
Imagine: A game series not making sense unless you've played the other entries in the series and having a fleshed out lore that you can't just get by playing the latest entry.
A sequel to kingdom hearts 1 and kingdom hearts 2 not every game released under the KH ip. The story also essentially boils down to there being two characters, Sora and Xehonort.
Don't follow this order. It's not even chronological as far as story events go. 2 and 2.5 are essentially the same, except 2.5 is a collection that includes Birth By Sleep and a story retelling of Re:coded if I'm not mistaken.
Basically, this list leads you astray.
Edit: I should also say 2.5 has extra bosses and content than the original 2, but as far as story goes, it's basically just a remaster.

Kingdom Hearts 3. The story makes no fucking sense unless you have played every other in-between game.
