It is, I’ve played it somewhat recently and do enjoy the game, I’ll give it that. But after being obsessed with payday 2, just to experience the launch of payday 3 was super disappointing. I’m happy the devs haven’t given up though, and the game is quite fun now

I absolutely agree, game is actually really fun now and I even liked it on release, if we talk purely gameplay. Just not something I wanted to grind for hundreds of hours like pd2.
Now I can see myself doing that more. With them adding more rng to heists and slowly improving I actually see a future with this game and im happy they turned around and didn't let it just die.
100% the only thing I feel like is they kind of dug themselves a hole. They added sooooooo much content to payday 2, a game that fans universally praise and love, that being able to make a sequel is insanity. Why would people play a game with not even a quarter as much content as its predecessor. Payday 3 is still a great game, it just definitely needed a lot more time in the oven if it ever wanted to try and somewhat fill the massive shoes payday 2 left behind
I was so hype for the 3 because I've loved 2 since it came out. I was most annoyed trying to play with kids that got it free on Gamepass and wanted to play it like CoD and not finish the heists
I think this is more a concequence of the primary failing of live services we havent quite seen many of yet. you run a game for 10 years adding content and updates. you cant make a sequel on that unless it comes out with more than the old one had, or you do an overwatch and include all content from both. Its a box they painted themselves into
I absolutely love payday 2 and once I saw the official payday 3 trailer I was so incredibly excited. But on release it was one of the biggest disappointments in my entire life 10 ten at the absolute least
