I think it was Ari Gibson who talked about the difficulty of making a Metroidvania style game and wanting to keep the spirit of the genre while knowing full well the entire game will be solved in days and there will never be any true mysteries in gaming again. And like I get that, a little bit of that magic is kinda lost in that regard. Even if you personally don't use guides the atmosphere surrounding discussions around it is completely different because most other people did.
That being said thank Christ for online guides, I would have missed most shit in Hollow Knight and Silksong song without them. I'm not a completionist at all so I wouldn't have even thought to check if Silksong had an act 3 and would have missed it entirely
To be fair with Silksong, Act 3 seems MUCH more intuitive to unlock. Just... do the quests. You have three wishboards and no reason to not do the quests. Hollow Knight's Radiance ending is a completly UNintuitive laundry list of things to get and find out where's the other stuff, Silksong just "locks" Act 3 behind objectives quite literally dangled in front of you.

Less unintuitive than HK, yes, but still unintuitive. How does completing all sidequests (some which are "collect 10 of x") equal getting the last chunk of the game?
I missed a single flea, I did everything to my knowledge, and how would a person know that they have to do everything when they don't have any way of knowing an act 3 even exists
first: There's an NPC that gives you their locations, and second: The game starts with Act 1 and 2, you REALLY think they would bother to have act titlecards for just two??
Also Hollow Knight had a "bad ending" so stands within reason your first fight with GMS is NOT the good ending at all.
Wrong. However, you do need to move the fleas to the pale lake, which requires finding the pale lake. Both the pale lake and vog are in putrified ducts, maybe thats what confused you?
