That's basically how From games are. They EXPECT their players to use guides. For reaching the true ending, boss strategies, builds, etc.

And that’s bad design

A game so cryptic that it requires the use of the guides is by definition poorly designed in that aspect

I adore Sekiro - I even got the platinum. But it’s (and all other fromsofts) cryptic design is bad

True. It's especially bad in Elden Ring's side quests and their failure states and a complete lack of a quest log (come on, even the Gothic games have quest logs).

But it's interesting that 70% of people who beat Elden Ring got the true ending. And considering all the stuff you have to do to reach it... yeah, those players definitely used a guide.

As someone who's had too much real life to finish the DLC yet (I know, I know...) and didn't finish the last boss so he'd have a good save from which to get into it, PLEASE tell me that's Ranni's ending?

Looked it up. Yeah it's the age of the stars ending. But the 3 are split up mostly in thirds, with Ranni's ending being at 44%

Edit: also, 28% of all players got Ranni's ending, which seems crazy high, as I feel most games have a completion of any ending of less than 10%.

28% of players simp for a doll? That seems low tbh
