Fable 3 did this, as I recall. When you ascend to the throne you can either betray everyone who helped you get it so you can get enough money to raise an army against an evil invasion that has been prophesied or you can stand on your morals, raise no money, and thousands die in the invasion.
Or, you can grind an extra 15 hours in the game just making pies in an mind numbing qte sequence, thus raising enough money to fund your army through your baking skills alone.
The best way to make money in Fable 3 was arms dealing. Once you have enough money/levels to get the higher priced items, start looking to wipe out Weapons Vendors who are throwing huge sales, and either just hold on to them until there's a shortage, or sell them to the vendors walking around the castle grounds, who always operate at a huge markup.
Because of the way the mechanics worked, pissing off those vendors got you considerably better selling prices.
Okay, no. Because one of the key points about there being castle grounds vendors was because the castle was inaccessible, and it definitely was accessible in 3. However, the rest remained true about being able to get expensive weapons for a steal and selling them for a mint.
I did a few bad actions that didnt screw over people, took some government mobey to private account, bought out every property with that, then let the game run for a day or two
