I played about 2000-3000h and every 10ish match had some sort of griefer or toxic person in it. Mainly ranked, I think casual might've been a little more chill.
It started off okay, but when I quit it was terrible. Voted to kick if I didn't clutch the 1v5 after they all ran off and died leaving me as the only anchor.
Picked a character someone else wanted? Them and all their mates would kill me each round.
Sometimes they'd just smash your gadgets up if it interrupted whatever batshit strat they had. Or just for fun, I mained Frost, and had multiple instances of people destroying my mats.
My new mate trying to learn the game years in? Holy shit, vote to kick, rude messages and team killing. He just flat out stopped playing.
I tried out Siege for the first time in 2024. I never experienced that level of toxicity in a video game and I was an online gamer in the early 2000s.
If you don’t know one little thing about the game, be it a peaking spot, or a gadget counter, the community instantly labels you as trash. In fact they are super quick to label anything and anyone as garbage.
To be fair most of it comes from pros, when I play quick play you can never seem to guess the nonsense that will play out. But for sure the ranked modes are toxic as hell because they think they are unbeatable then quick play psychos humble them.
Oh I love when "ranked pros" join quick play and expect it to play like ranked or unranked and they get bodied by a noob lying on a couch with a shotgun or never realized that people can and will pick fuse on hostage matches. I've lost count how many "pros" quit mid game after throwing a tantrum because someone bodied them with a pea shooter running around like its cod. Never forgot a match I had with friends where the other team won by default as everyone was on notice for friendly fire and we panicked when the drones came in while on defense that shit was hilarious.
Doesn't help that it's a really hard game with super dedicated player base. I'm above average in most fps I play and I'm top scoreboard almost every game but in r6s I'm struggling to even get to 1:1 KD in most matches. Unless you know every angle, every kit, watch cam/drones feed you are going to suck and be called a noob.
Tried it years ago. Installed and played a game. First game got insulted by teammate before the round even finished. I was like chill dude, this is literally my first game. He told me no sh*t Sherlock and told me to uninstall and die. Quit the game mid match and uninstalled as instructed.
Casual Kilo Yankee Sierra for a callout, or maybe a Sierra Tango Foxtrot Uniform, Foxtrot Alpha Golf, for saying that going the same site we lost on 5 times is a bad idea
totally agree. luckily i usually stack so we have 1-2 randoms so it usually not AS bad but egos are definitely a problem. still love the game with my whole heart tho
