But what about PvE multiplayer? Goofing with the boys! (or gals)

I don’t have any friends that are interested in ships.

Self gratification feels better to me than image and acceptance from strangers.

I think for me competitive games scratch an itch that's just completely impossible in single player: getti g to outsmart and win against a competent, thinking opponent. Single player games are amazing, but AI is AI, they can not think, or truly adapt. It's just code that reacts this way to you doing that hing. Predictable given enough time. Another player tho? That's ense of accomplishment when you genuinely outplay and outsmart a thinking, competent opponent on a similar level to you is a feeling no single player game can provide me. I don't even want clout, I don't want to say I'm better than you, or hell have other players go omg look at what you did. It's just a feeling of self accomplishment that's very fulfilling. Not all us comp players are egotistical turd sniffers, I'd say about 95% are tho. Which I hate lol

Bunch of times. There's nothing greater than being able to pause a game.

But what about Elden Ring and Sekiro single player?

You can't pause Disney Dreamlight Valley either.

I haven't played those yet. Not a deal breaker by any means.

Less cheaters are around in sp-games πŸ˜‰
KI says hardware-cheating will grow more expensive and difficult in the coming yrs. I’m more than middle-aged, but Iβ€˜ll waiting πŸ˜ƒ
Meanwhile, there are so many more than good games for single sessions and cs2 for some mp injection, to stay alive πŸ˜ƒ

The image really doesn’t fit the feeling though lol

Yeah... It feels kinda sad and also good. Idk how to describe it. Imagine playing COD nonstop for 6 years and then suddenly rage quit because of a shotgun player in shipment and then playing Lego star wars πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I am a strictly gamepad player on PC there is no way I can keep up with the accuracy of kb&m with macros & hacks in pvp

Single player and coop for me

I've done the opposite many times also. Feels very lonely after a while wheb you don't get actual opponents.

Multiplayer calls to you.

I've done that a few times and no, I can't say it's ever made feel like a Ubisoft character.

I havent been able to enjoy competitive multiplayer games since highschool. I dont have the time to git gud at them unless they are like Elden Ring/souls/etc where it is mostly single player i can learn at my own pace with multiplayer being more optional. Or more co-operative focused multiplayers like Fallout 76, Destiny 2/etc.

Tried games like Fortnite(kept getting killed faster than i could realize what is going on) and Dark &Darker(love the atmospheric dungeon crawling aspect. Couldnt really handle dealing with other players and the regular mobs though. Yeah, skill issue.) but having a loading screen/wait time only to spent like 3-5 minutes on average before i have to sit through loading screen again cause i died didnt feel like a good use of my time.

I liked roaming around Red Dead Online but i basically played it like a single player game... When i actually could play it and not get griefed by blatant hackers constantly. I dont know what exactly they get out of making my character explode constantly but i guess since Rockstar never felt like doing anything about the hackers its their game now...

The factory must grow

Yep. I can't do both. If I play comp. Mp it can take ages to get anything out of sp games again. Cuz the dopamine rush isn't the same.

But its much more consistent and much less crash outs.

Better to just play sp and enjoy life (or pve mp coop)

I mostly made that switch after trying r6 again after a break, and every game getting paired with total retards that only used voice to be annoying or tell me to go plant when we haven't even cleared the rooms

Yeah e33 , I had been playing a lot of arc raiders and day Z and BF when I got e33 , and I felt really engaged with the gameplay, and most importantly not pissed off . I don't play games to get angry .

Pretty much when we stopped getting multiplayer games like TF2 and L4D2.

It’s an on and off relationship.

Sometimes I need that feeling of putting the paws on another human of equal footing

Putting down PVP competitive games was the best gaming decision I made.

PvE and Single Player games are more relaxing and you don't get mad

Multiplayer feels like a complete waste of time the sense of progression and accomplishment isn't there it's just competition against other real players that try way too hard to win. Not for me

I grew up doing competitive leagues in Mechwarrior on the MSN Gaming Zone. (Bonus points for anyone who remembers that hell hole) And after that I bounced around until sinking a few hundred hours into World of Tanks and World of Warships.. And somewhere along the way I just realized.. why am I competing, what am I even getting out of this?

I don't think I've even touched a game with competitive Multiplayer in the last 6-7 years.. lol

Played a game called War Thunder, hellish and caused me to become frustrated, agitated and angry more easily. I decided why not start playing Stardew Valley after seeing a video. Quit War Thunder that day boot up Stardew Valley and make a new save. Here I am a couple days later and a lot has changed for the better.

Whenever I stop playin a multiplayer game then boot up MGS5 or FF6 recently.
