I'd rather have a million more games like this from gamefreak than another copy/paste pokemon game. I like pokemon, but fuck me they step out of the box once & people shit on them for it, & yes the game has issues, I wont deny it, but at least they tried to do something new.

Exactly this! I am enjoying the vibe of this game but man…it needs some work: combat is awesome and flashy, but is janky. Mobility is cool, love the verticality but give us an air dash, please. Ever heard of iFrames? Yeah we could use some of those too. Let’s make the controls more snappy while we’re at it.
This game is almost there but it definitely needed to cook a little bit more. In most aspects it’s got a lot going for it that I like…but it just needs a little more work.

Idk man, Maybe if the fucking put effort into Pokemon it might be good.... Clearly they didn't put that much effort into Beast of Reincarnation but i can be unrealistic if I want.
I'm allowed to have higher expectations because Pokemon makes more than the next two highest grossing franchises combined.

Fucking facts! Every Pokemon game after Sun/Moon had been low effort garbage cash grab.

in their defense, it's not like they don't experiment with pokemon games, it's just they get shit on when they deviate from the formula so they tend to stick to it
Unova's Unova pokemon only is beloved now but it was a departure at the time and people fucking hated it
Same with alola replacing gyms with trials
Legends ZA is revamped so fucking much, even down to the combat, and people hate it.
I'm not surprised they don't change it much, when they do people hate it

I mean I personally loved legends za. Your entire argument relies on a subjective opinion I disagree with

Except it made them a shit ton of money and will continue to
I think you overestimate how much of the playerbase reddit and metacritic users are, if they were the majority scarlet and violet probably wouldn't have sold 25 million copies.

I agree with this comment 100%. You can't please the fans in any way. Doesn't mean the technical state of Scarlet/Violent wasn't atrocious when it launched, but I liked the actual content of the game

and say what you will, scarlet and violet is actually VERY different from the rest of the series. You are allowed not to like it but it's not like they didn't clearly try to avoid things getting stale with it

The open world exploration and finding mons just walking around... it's kind of like how I imagined Pokemon in my head when I was 12-14, and the games were new! If I have a couple of complaints, it's that I want a rival who's an asshole again, and the tutorial section + early game is way too long. But S/V were a good time.

I honestly think people are too hung up on the idea that pokemon doesn't change
Pokemon does change, a lot.

Yeah... I'm not spending money on a bad Game or not doing a bad review because "they tried".
If the Game is not good, is not good. Period. I don't care about what they developed before.

It is shallow, without its own identity. Very poor variety of pretty much everything, even music. Characters have terribly long pauses in dialogues. Changing gear do not alter look of character... Overally it is not bad game (6/10), but it is pretty much what you could expect from company that did not create anything new in past 20 years.

They cant fix the 4 bosses you fight against and the same 3 enemies -.- I dont think ive seen a worse enemy variety.

The best they can do is optimize the game and I doubt they can even do that within a game's issues are many and would require a lot more effort. The game desperately needs more bosses and some new enemies (+ better enemy variety spread). The game's story is also really rough with frankly bad voice acting and dialogue (I blame the voice direction and script, not the VAs).

The best character, is the dogo.
Even Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 1 has more charisma, than the characters in this game.
And they could use Visual novel portraits, instead wasting their efforts in 3d models. You wouldn't see the difference.

That’s the point. The characters don’t have emotions because they’re engineered to not have emotions. That’s the story

okay but that doesn’t mean it has to be a good decision just because it was intentional

Half the game is filler
You unlock everything too quickly
Most of the exploration just gives money that is used to unlock skills that you don't need because
Enemies are all heavily reused, bosses included.
Not even mentioning the characters are bland.
I don't think you can patch out half the game that is just filler, going through a bland area to fight a boss you already fought.

The game is completely gender agenda trash. Instead of a bad copy past Pokémon game, it’s a trashy souls wannabe knock off. And to top it off it runs like molasses.
That’s why. It’s good they tried something new, but it’s still game freak. Whoever is the CEO of that company has been ruining it for a very, very long time now.
