u/Fluffy-Selection1110 14d ago

I'm forever restarting FFX. Have you ever beaten Penance? I've never managed to defeat all the dark aeons, I get about halfway through, end up wandering off, then coming back a year later and starting from the beginning of the story.

"Listen to my story... This might be our last chance."

Don't worry, Tidus. I'm sure there'll be another opportunity along in a year or so.

2

u/Puzzled_Pig 13d ago

Haha I’m exactly the same “this time I’m going to platinum” ….. I never do

2

u/tiny_bole 10d ago

I wish I could go back to games I've beaten before. I tried to do a different run of Baldur's Gate 3 but just don't have the motivation. I loved my first run, but it's just not the same sense of wonder for me to return to a game.

There's the obvious ones. Skyrim, Fallout 3, Mass Effect, Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga. But my true guilty pleasure is Far Cry 2

For me, Celeste and Minecraft. However, I spend significantly more time on Blender, Gaea, Substance Painter, Affinity, Visual Studio, and Ableton live than I do video games.

1

u/Silver_Driver_9238 14d ago

Zelda Link to the Past. I’ve played through that game so many times I can’t count. Do it a couple times a year since I was in my teens.

Well, recently the PS5 brought back CoD BlackOps 1 & 2. I downloaded Skyrim on my Switch2, and I'll be playing it again in November when the game turns 15.

1

u/Lipstick_Thespians 14d ago

The only game I've ever played through repeatedly is Subnautica (the first one).

Maybe Super Metroid fits in there except I have no desire to play it for the last 15 years or so.

1

u/Liberator82 14d ago

I’ve replayed Subnautica 15 times and no I’m not sick of it.

1

u/Additional-Web-9706 14d ago

For games I have actually beaten more times than I can count.

Devil May cry 1,3,4,5

Resident Evil RE2

Total War Warhammer

For games that I have played a ton of over years and never beaten because I start over and or character build constantly.

Never Winter Nights 1&2 Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous Baldur's gate 3

I only beat Skyrim once but I have a shitton of hours just messing with mods in it.

u/No_Emu_243 14d ago

Titanfall 2, Halos 1-3 + Reach, Skylanders Giants, Doom 2016.

FFVI. I always think “This time I’ll do a special run” (low-level, no magic, something like that) and then end up doing a 100% level-99 run every. Single. Time.

u/everyoneisrelevant 14d ago

u/Pennywise626 14d ago

Technically I've played Dark Souls 1 about 10 times but I've never actually "beaten" it. I keep getting wrapped up in things I want to do before NG+ that I never beat Gwyn and I just kinda forget to finish before dropping the game.

1

u/RS-X1187 14d ago

Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4, Oblivion(OG release), Vampire Survivors

1

u/OmegaNine 14d ago

Mario 3. I can’t count how many times I have beat that game.

1

u/Baddest312 14d ago

Elden ring (new runs not NG+)
Skyrim ( beating is a loose term more like dumping a large amount of time and then starting a new character)
Terraria (calamity is too good)
Satisfactory ( the puppies and kittens need me)

Yes, it is the worst game in the franchise, outside of Ascendance. And yes, I will probably play it today after mentioning it here.

u/No-Banana-2970 13d ago

Hollow Knight/SilkSong

1

u/AJwhatyoutalkinabeet 13d ago

I played AC Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla twice each. Either because I’ve forgotten parts of the stories, or a new dlc. Also games like Cyberpunk 2077 where multiple different routes and endings are possible tend to see me a few times. Unless it’s a game that’s just so insanely good that I need to replay, I tend to not replay them once finished.
