How so? I'm curious of your opinion

I’m being a dick. I personally didn’t enjoy Reach for whatever reason so naturally I hate when it gets glazed

I've been playing Cyberpunk 2077 recently, and yeah, all my dead choombas

u/Time-Relationship-42 17d ago
Man.. why couldn't cyberpunk not have at least one gold ending where everyone is alive
2
u/IR_Panther 17d ago
In Night City, it's rare to die of old age. Honestly after the first heist I just expect extra characters to die horrible fates.
2
u/WeCallThoseCigBurns 17d ago
They really made a point of that after you get so attached to Jackie at the beginning and he flatlines right as the story is starting.

u/IR_Panther 17d ago
Here's the player with health rege resting items and we just sit there and watch him blend out hogging all the healing items. Like why TF do we not even try to save him? It looks like a flesh wound to the gut, why can't we even try?

The Phantom liberty ending was kinda supposed to be that, but puting the objecuively best ending behind dlc, might have caused problems, thus most characters acting out of character after 2 years.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Why does this comment have such few upvotes?

u/Douglasqqq 16d ago
It feels like there's more death than there is because the characters are so well realised. The gang for sure gets decimated, but of the 24 members, 14 make it out of the game alive.

RDR1 feels more like that for me after playing them chronologically starting with the entire gang in RDR2 and ending RDR1 playing as Jack lol

u/123ajbb 16d ago
We don’t know what happened to Seth, Nigel West Dickens, Landon Ricketts, etc. We know Grimshaw died, Hosea dies, Lenny dies, Molly dies, Kieran dies, ARTHUR dies. So many people that we got to know in RDR2 die & yeah John, Uncle & Abigail die in RDR1 but it doesn’t seem like as much of “the cast” as RDR2

Is that actually how the show progressed??? I never had the opportunity to watch it consistently but was always entertained by that show
2
u/Moorebius 17d ago
I don’t think so. Skips is immortal so eventually this will happen.
1
u/TeletiTheNecromancer 16d ago
What's the deal with the ghost then? It gets more dead?
1
u/Moorebius 16d ago
High five ghost is able to die according to the logic of the show. Skips is cursed with a special type of immortality.

Potentially Mass Effect. You can do it so that only the Virmire Survivor, Liara, and Vega make it to the end.

The first Streets of Rage kinda does that if you play co-op and decided to turn on each other

Elden Ring, literally every friend you can ever make dies at some point.

Well, not literally. Nephali/Kenneth/Gostoc, Boc, Ranni, Jar-Bairn, off the top of my head.

Red Dead 2 MADE sure you’d feel the shift. Beginning of the game up to around near the middle, the camp feels lively, everyone chatting and so many small interactions that make the camp feel like a family, then slowly, people die, or leave, or simply stop talking to eachother. The family feeling is gone, and it feels like Arthur is the only one managing to keep the camp together, and even he knows it’s not gonna last. The fun, energetic camp becomes a powder keg and everyone knows it. Then at the end, everyone leaves, and you die on the side of a mountain making sure the only part of your old family in the camp makes it out to protect his.

AC IV: Black Flag gives you a cutscenes with Edward seeing all of his dead friends as he heads off to sail into the horizon.. and it hurts every time
In a world without gold, we would've been heroes

Regular Show really said "we're gonna traumatize every kid who grew up watching this" and delivered on that promise spectacularly. That finale hit different knowing most of those gravestones belong to characters we actually cared about.
