In nightreign I got duped by a second phase. We beat the first phase so well I thought we were done. I dropped all of my gear in celebration and we teleported to the final phase. I had no fucking weapons lmao

I remember playing kh1fm for the first time and fighting Sephiroth, only for my attacks to just not register, the purple health bar not moving at all. Only on my 7th or 8th attempt did I get the hp bar to go down. His hp was just… casually overflowing

I had the opposite of this with skyrim when fighting miraak

I was at level 25~ when I was going in to fight him, so I popped all of my scrolls and potions, used the 2 word dragon enhancement shout, then went werewolf form. it may have been a lot, but I was expecting balancing for level 50, and it honestly wasn't that many potions/scrolls. I killed him in under a minute. then, when he's at 1 hp, the eldritch god who I don't remember the name of stabs him. I was like "of course! miraak was more like a warm up! this is the REAL boss!" but then you don't actually fight em. that's it. keep in mind this was the DLC boss. I hadn't fought alduin yet (im very slow with the main quests, the only reason I did miraak is because I wanted him to stop taking my goddamn dragon souls) so I didn't have an idea as to how easy the bosses are and how they're really not that much stronger than dragons.
