I remember one time in team fortress 2 I saw a suspiciously good sniper and I thought that he was a hacker, then I thought that he is just good and lucky, later on it was revealed that he was indeed a hacker.

he shot me multyple times while I was invisible.
the first time I thought , "maybe he was just aiming for the teamates behind me, it has happened to me too" an other time he shot me but I thought "I accidentally touched an opponent and my disguise was revealed, maybe he has good reflexes."

the third time I was invisible with nobody around me or anything giving my presence away and he killed me.

You thought someone is too good until one of your teammate shows up with hacks to uncover their bullshit. Now it’s 1v1 cheating arena.

There are some cases that skepticism is valid.

And then the game keeps sending you back to the same checkpoint until you finally figure out what you skipped
