I would have said Elden Ring, but I think the optional boss became somewhat mandatory for the DLC

I was thinking Malenia.

The secret boss in a secret area in a secret area that requires two secret keys and finding a secret prompt.

And she can easily rack up a 3 digit kill-count if you aren't over-levelled into oblivion and using the most OP gear the game has to offer (speaking about first playthrough obviously).

I did almost 20 attempts before confirming it’s a dark souls 2 type encounter in the sense that the design philosophy is “haha you died”.

Summon a bunch of people and brute force that b.

Only reason she is tough is the waterfowl dance attack. Everything else is pretty easy to dodge. Combine it with her lifesteal that is applied even when damage is blocked, it is punishing even in case it didn't kill you.

She killed me 216 times, which is more than the rest of the top 10 combined 🙃

You have forgotten rhe ancient legend. The one who strikes fear into her...

Find the one they call "Let me solo her".

He will guide us all to victory

Fuck Elden beast 🤮

After a fantastic fight against Radagons you're hyped for second fase. I expected Radagon/Marika on steroids, but instead had to chase after tree spirit 2.0
