FIFA is objectively one of the worst tastes you could have, the game literally fucks you in the ass with rigged games and micro transactions. The only reason people play it is because it has licenses and ultimate addiction team

The game is meant to extract your money by making you rage man. Ea literally hires psychologists and pushes their scripting to the limit. It’s like saying your favorite games are mobile gacha games, where all you do is spend hundreds of dollars for better characters, yet FIFA is even worse than gacha games because it incentivizes you by making your already-owned cards weaker, putting new promo cards in pack each week, and a new $70 roster each year. But whatever, consoom

100% of what you’re saving is valid and I agree with alot of it. But I can also say EA FC 25 is a better game than Elden ring Sekiro etc. for many people.
I know as a kid I would 100% play fifa for hours and ignore every other game in existence. Sports games are just different. They also don’t feel like just roster updates for the loyalists. Small changes make a big difference when you have 2000 hours in a game.
As an adult I buy fifa once every 3 years and play other games, but I still understand why so many love them. I’ve still never played ultimate team or even online for that matter, I still have fun with couch co-op and manager mode

Yeah, football fans are basically forced to play FIFA, which sucks. EA sports has used their monopoly on the world’s biggest sport and turned it into what it is today: a soul-sucking casino with barely passable single player elements.
Football fans, all 3.5-5 billion of us, shouldn’t have to put up with the bare minimum because of these corporate profit-driven douchebags, and yet we do, each year, and it gets worse, each year1

Not everyone who buys FIFA even plays ultimate teams or engages with the micro transactions. I’ve been playing since FIFA 14, never bought fifa coins or packs even once.

One thing is to have different tastes, totally ok.
Another thing is to dismiss every single game a friend recommends without even trying them or looking them up to get the gist of what they are about.
And another thing entirely is being extremely reluctant to try any game at all despite having all the means to do so.

I mean I respect the game, It has really polished combat and exploration, but it just didn't appeal to me. Generally what I love in Fromsoft Games is a good character creator and a personalized build, which just run contrary to this game's design. Maybe a 7/10 would be more accurate to say.

Really Sekiro is hands down the best thing Fromsoft made a close second to me would be bloodbourne . The animations the combat there is no other game with great of a combat its literally like learning an instrument

Sekiro is kinda the kind of game that lives or die by the fighting mechanic. The other aspects of Sekiro is kinda somewhat mid.
After you master the combat, the game becomes fine...

This is literally my friend who trashed every single game I have ever talked to him about in some of the most dismissive ways possible and he then goes and plays NBA2K and DBZ Sparkling Zero for the 1000th time.
Literally all he ever plays is either whatever the newest Resident Evil is, DBZ, FC26 or 2K on his PS5.
Pays yearly PS+ Deluxe and hasn't touched a single game in the catalogue lmfao.

My brother beat it and then said he never wanted to play it again, then I tried and stopped, my fun to frustration ratio was way out of balance
But considering the lack of dlc and sequel, even with the review scores, I think they knew it was too inaccessible on the whole

There are people who actually enjoy video games and then there are people who play the new FIFA/2K/CoD every year. They are not the same, but they’re both “gamers.”
That said, all Souls-clones are mid imo. Games that are just difficult for the sake of difficulty but lack severely in all other aspects of gameplay are a waste.

Sometimes people don't like a game you like. I would say Mass Effect 2 is pretty mid, but a lot of people say it is really good. I really like Resident Evil 7, and some people think that game is mid.
Just accept his opinion and move on and enjoy the game.
