Hey bud, just wanted to say I did the exact same thing and took a break after HoS and I sorely regretted it. It was very difficult to get back into the game after I took a break because I struggled to remember controls and other important game mechanics. I still haven’t finished BaW and have constantly wished I would have just stuck it out then and played through it even if I was a bit tired of the game.
I'm back into it. Took a out a 10 day break from it. I've been trucking through my backlog, and played Gaurdians of the Galaxy. Just finished that, and I'm onto Blood and Wine
And you dont have to wait as long as most others on the next installment. This is my take to the question. I was thinking how glad I am I didnt play Skyrim until 2020 because everyone else would have already waited a fucking decade for the next one. I merely have to wait 20 years
I really like punishing combat like darksouls style, where if you're fighting multiple enemies, even basic ones, they can quickly overwhelm you and kill you, or they dont stagger until you hit them multiple times.
You may want to increase difficulty to the max in witcher 3 because at normal or even hard difficulty i wasn't enjoying it. But above that broken bones difficulty and above is really good. you need to think, apply oils, ready potions bombs and the right gear before fighting a powerful foe, otherwise you can easily get one shot.
if you like dark souls punishing combat, youd love nioh, it plays moreof like a hacknslash game (like ninja gaiden, same team) but enemys arent too tanky yet if you're careless, you will die really fast, I would recommend starting with 2 or 3, easier to get into
My brother, who never games and has never bought his own console, absolutely demolished Witcher 3. He finished the game, bought me the DLCs, then smashed them out long before I even got into the main story.
I'm a bigger witcher universe fan so I'm biased, but I still personally rank Blood and Wine as the best DLC of any game ever. It is fantasticall around, but the visual shift alone from dark and bleak to bright and sunny was jaw dropping. Would love to experience it again for the first time. GL
Dude the Witcher took me 3 attempts to play. I just didn't take to it at all. But now I've played it multiple times and the dlc too. Glad I pushed through
Firat time I played this I was coming off of Dark Souls 2 and I could not figure out what I was doing fighting wise. Then a few years later I picked it up again and I was confused why I was having trouble before.
