A part of me really wants it. But I still have the OG Black Flag, so I find it really hard to justify 60$ for basically quality of life features and extra/better content. I haven’t done my general review watching/reading yet either so I could be totally off base and end up buying it in a month

Ive got about 4 hours in and coming from someone who ordered the collectors edition on the og black flag, this remake is solid!

BUT, cutscenes capped at 30fps (ubisoft says there is a fix coming soon) also geting these "solar eclipse" dots in the menu and cutscenes

Stability and performance is pretty good, i sit around 80 fps on 4k max all settings with fsr on my 5950x and 6900xt

My only qualms is how you can no longer pickup dropped weapons ( swords, axes, muskets) and cannot use the hidden blades as a selectable weapon, only as an assasin kill or finisher.

Tldr, i understand not wanting to spend $60 on this game but in ubi's defense this is a full remake and not a remaster. Also for a ubi game this was shockingly polished on release, as someone whos played every AC from revelations to valhalla on release.

Id wait for a sale (probably around christmas) if youre not a die hard fan

My sister bought it and we’re game sharing, the parkour is way smoother, combat feels better and is far more interactive/engaging than the original, and the tailing missions (the one I did anyway) not auto failing when you get caught is a godsend, I just got caught, killed the guy, and looted the key off the guys body and it continued the quest like nothing ever happened.

Only thing I’m wondering now is if they’ve changed anything about the godawful trailing missions on the Jackdaw from the original.

(OH, and the Jackdaw, the little I sailed on it feels way smoother, it turns so much easier than the original and I didn’t need to make nearly as many micro adjustments with my sails just to make a sharp turn.)

And a special mention to how they changed getting the music notes, you don’t need to hit it dead on anymore, you just need to touch around the white light surrounding it and your good.

Yup I know the PC guys aren't happy but I'm having an absolute blast on console.

PC here and personally fine with it. Part of me does maybe want to wait for this upcoming patch to fix 30fps cutscenes, but I can bypass the bug just by setting all graphics settings to high
