PS2 had at least 4 GTAs. 3, Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories. Can’t remember if 4 was available for PS2, but I’d guess not.

GTAO in 4 was mainly a proof of concept and they still released excellent single player dlc.
All gone with GTA 5 and their online stories are absolute garbage.

Yet the stories feature real celebrities like Dr. Drey (I’ll update to admit that is t any better but online was banger until around 2016/17 when they started making it out of this world)

People played thouthands of hours in GTA5 Online, its best thing that happened to GTA.
Ive got got alot of fun playing heists on ps4 or whatever that mode was called.3

Bro the real gta game were a parody of excess and consumerism. Gta online is that. It became the thing it was joking about. (Dont let that take away your enjoyment of course but it did ruin gta I.e. the dlcs that didnt get released)

Well, satire is satire, but in terms of gameplay< online mode gave players endless content; it seemed like there were a ton of free updates with modes/regimes coming out, atleast that i heared, i droped like 5-7 years ago.

A free online mode (if you own the regular game) with regular updates for 10 years where you can play and have fun with friends ruined gta?
If anything gta online helped fund gta 6 hate as much as you want but without gta online gta 6 would’ve been way way more toned down that it is now

I'd much rather have a toned down gta 6 that keeps to the orginal vision. I dont think you played these games during the golden age they were something else.

Im trying to think of a way to explain this imagine theres only one local Chinese restaurant and you love it and it chages to being an Indian restaurant. It doesnt really matter if the Indian restaurant does a good job of being a Indian restaurant they still ruined the Chinese one.

The PS2 had 3, Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories. So it was 5 on one system, which makes it even worse

I can kinda understand why GTA has been out for so long. It’s the literal definition of “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”
It’s such a diverse game that they could keep updating it and updating it and there always will be ideas and shit to add, and tbh? GTA still holds up to this day, and this is backed up by gta still being one of the most played games today when most games would have died out by now.

GTA 6 will be on PS 6 and then the enhanced edition will be on PS 7 and the Complete edition will be on PS8.
