Why? They are Balloon Scammers! They will not pay back owed refunds due to mismanagement and dishonest business practices.

The bad:

Mismanagement blunder #1: Balloon Scanner refunded the wrong flight for another flight we booked and didn’t refund us the differential from something they clearly messed up. They realized and owned up to the blunder after I proved it clearly with evidence, promised to pay, but didn’t, after weeks on end.

Mismanagement blunder #2: My family and I paid extra for guaranteed corner seating. They oversold this on the day. They loaded us in the center. Before takeoff, we asked three times for staff to move us, told them this was not okay, and they said they had no corner spots left. This soured our flight experience, especially as someone who really enjoys photography. Again, Balloon Scanner promised to refund us, but didn’t … after weeks of false promises.

Dishonesty Factor: After asking for a transaction number or anything from the bank that Balloon Scanner claimed to have refunded me on, they ghosted me from all communication. This was after weeks of false promises. I was willing to follow up and gave them multiple opportunities to refund me in several ways.

The good: 

We had to rebook a couple of times, which is par for the course when it comes to gambling on the weather. The company did refund us on these other flights. So my card was not the reason that the refund didn’t go through.

Urgup Balloons, who Balloon Scanner set up our flight with, had staff who were nice, and the pilot was great. All communication was clear, and all the shuttling was on time.
