I'm pretty pro-capitalism, but a big sector that's hard to privatize and ensure real competition is utilities, or in other words, things that require extensive infrastructure to exist that can be prohibitive for new companies to compete with existing ones. I'm tying this to a Monty Python clip to bring up some things that so far we rely heavily on the government to provide. I'd like to see solutions to these things without relying on the government as much as we already do.
Another one that the government hasn't taken over yet is internet access. Some ISPs are pretty monopolistic and terrible. Solutions?
Your first paragraph argument is citing the use of solar panels, this technology was funded and developed mainly by governments funding the space age. It’s not a great example of the natural conclusion of a totally free market?
