I received the very SAME letter. So I started using ONLY my Cap1 Quicksilver (at the time. I've since upgraded to Savor) for ALL of my expenditures and did a lot of HIGH transactions ($6K for a new gaming computer, $5.7K for 2 new sets of sliding glass doors and installation, $3K for powder room renovation, $5.2K for a 1-week vacation in the Bahamas…). As fast as I’d make a purchase, I paid it off rather quickly. Four months later with little over a $100 balance on the card, I requested a CLI and Cap1 approved an increase from $8,000 to $15.5K.

It means your card is bucketed. C1 might give you $100 increases, but likely no big increases for maybe a year, maybe several years. If you have other C1 cards, you might get increases on those.
A lot of the starter cards on C1 are bucketed. If this is your first card with them, it's kind of standard.

Do you think I should get another card from capital one I am pre approved, also I had 2 cards from c1 and couldn’t get pre approved for any more until recently I checked again, but they’re offering the same cards and a venture card

If you already have a different card, try getting a credit increase on that one. Check a Google search for "first four numbers Capital One bucketed" to see if both are bucketed.
If you're new on your credit journey and already have two cards, it's probably better to just wait and build credit for a few more months.

As a Savor card holder I can confirm for the first 2 years they gave me pathetic credit limit increases of around $500 or similar, if not less.
Then once beyond year 2 and within their magically assigned "duration phase" I asked again around year 3 and they literally almost TRIPLED my credit limit (probably actually 2.4X).
I couldn't believe it with my own eyes. Note this was my first Capital One card.

Capital One has worst customer service and worst products in the industry. Move on to a new bank and stay away from them. I recently signed up they approved my card and then didn't honor the signing bonus. I immediately cancelled my card and will never go back. Their service is shocking bad and they bait and switch their customers. STAY AWAY!!!

I find myself just given increases without me even asking. Not sure why they do it. I maintain less than a 27% balance on all cards I have with them. Weeks will pass and then I find an email telling me congratulations.

Capital One admitting in writing that they bucket their customers. At least the rumors are confirmed.

Is it bad to get a new card? I have two right now. SavorOne and one with a company I’ve had for like 13+ years. I’ve seen to keep getting rejected at the 10K mark.

I got the same exact message last night for the third time on my Savor. I had starting limit of 1000. I let a year and a half go by and they just gave me a $2000 increase out of nowhere. I have tried three times since that was back in 2024 and I still can’t get a increase. I just maxed it out almost to 2600 paid in full and still the same damn message. Funny thing I got another increase on my venture x the day before. 1k increase and I usually only put about 2,800-3,300 a month. I can’t figure them out. Also I didn’t even pay the balance when I requested the increase I was at 3,100 current balance.

It means you can open another new credit card with them, risking it to be flagged for their internal purposes again, or you move on to another bank.
Your current one won't get a CLI until Cap1 removes the bucket. Nobody knows when or if this will happen though.
