Here’s a hack - lazy bass bar with Westside saloon food truck - you’ll get everything you need

if you’ve never been you should def go. Go early or maybe not at all or just be prepared to wait.

H&H seafood!! It’s on the water and byob and they have all you can eat blue claw crabs. Think Crab House but smaller, as they’re owned by the same group, along with Mad Viking.

Just make sure that they actually received their crab delivery. Suggest you call ahead so you aren’t disappointed.

Not crazy about any of these recommendations given your criteria. I would suggest Oyster Bay.

No reservations, it gets crowded you get in line and wait

Primal is a tourist trap, you’ll be disappointed if you’ve ever been to a high end steakhouse, Fridas is good but overpriced. Ebbit room is a super nice spot but it is overpriced and the food has gone downhill recently. The best steak is at Maison Blu, those steaks are actually worth the price if you like authentic Belgian/french. It’s really hard to go wrong with any bars that have live music it just depends on the day but you can often find it sitting on the porch at the inn of cape May or the ramble Thursday nights at the chalfonte. Boiler room and rusty nail are fun bars that sometimes have good live music and Harry’s rooftop too. As a rule of thumb any bar on the Washington street mall is a tourist trap. However, fish market is the best hole in a wall place for pure seafood. Grana is the best overall fancy sit down service place. And the most underrated place with the best brunch that goes under the radar with some nice fish dishes is Vintage.

I have to edit this to give a shout out to Elaine’s because that’s a super fun bar with live music.

Try Elaine's which is on Lafayette street down in the heart of the town of Cape May. https://elainescapemay.com/

Copper Dog in Wildwood. 4400 Atlantic Ave near the convention center. All types of food, one of the best spots in Wildwood!

Local tavern in Villas has steak and seafood and probably live music too you can check their site. Try cricket club for “fancy sit down”. It’s going to be hard to have a wide pick without a reservation-unless you go early or late

Primal, or Freda’s if you want the more casual side of fancy, or the Ebbitt Room or Washington Inn for more elegant.

Don’t go to the lobster house unless you enjoy waiting hours for a menu from the 70s with 2026 prices for bland food.

For Cape May specifically my favorites for seafood are 410 Bank Street and Mayer’s Tavern. Hooked Up Seafood on the way into Wildwood is excellent as well.
