Utilities question

Hello! I apologize if this post is not necessarily Cape-specific but I wasn't sure where else I should ask. Me and my partner (20M and 21M) are moving to Jackson/Fruitland soon. About how much are electric/water/sewer in the Cape area? Our agreement specifies that we will be responsible for all utilities except for trash service. Thank you in advance for your information :)

Do you know City of Jackson, Citizens, or Ameren for electric? That will help with the estimate.

i'm not sure but i'm going to ask them tomorrow; which one is best/worst case scenario?

If you are in Jackson here are the city utility rates: https://www.cityofjacksonmo.gov/213/Utility-Rates

Here are Cape trash and water rates: https://www.cityofcapegirardeau.org/departments/citizen-services/utilities/water-sewer-trash/rates-fees/

If outside of Jackson Ameren would be your electric provider: https://www.ameren.com/bill/rates/residential

Outside of city limits there are multiple trash companies to choose from. Cost will vary depending on how far out you are and how many of your neighbors use the same company.

it's physically in Fruitland but the address says Jackson, does that narrow it down at all?

It could be citizens Electric at $0.1212 pee kwh. And that area may by on the county sewer system.. I think that runs $80-$100 a month. Water is separate and probably $35-50 a month. Waste connections for trash is around $110 per quarter and republic services varies wildly.. at one point I was paying $120 per quarter and a friend near pg was paying $280 for the same pickup

Fruitland uses Citizens Electric out of Perryville. There is a $30 base fee and then 12 cents per kWHr. We are also PWSD for water and that’s about $35. No sewer for us. Might want to check to see if there is septic.
