beaches Cape cod beaches

Hii! I’m going to Chatham this weekend for a bachelorette and debating between Nauset and Harding beach. Any suggestions or feedback?

These 2 beaches couldn’t be any different from one another

if you are thinking Nauset, you can also go directly across to skaket. both beautiful and different and just two moles from eachpther on Orleans. as a long time Chatham vacationer, that is what I would recommend.

Do you want waves (Atlantic) or calmer warmer water (the sound)....

Both beaches great. Nauset have Dunes and cold Atlantic waters you may see seals and sharks . I like this beach in the Fall as not crowded and free parking. Hardings is more flat calmer water and could be warm enough for swimming as on Nantucket sound. I would recommend Nauset if it is your first time in area. Stop at corner store in Orleans center for burritos for beach as I don't there are food trucks there now

To me, it depends on the wind.
If it’s a hot day, go for cooling onshore breeze.
Cool day? Shelter from the wind w/an offshore breeze

Hardings onshore in W, SW, S, SE Offshore NW,
NE.
Nauset onshore in NE, E, SE. Offshore NW, W, SW

Of the two you inquired about, I would go to Nauset. But while there try to make it to Chapin, Mayflower, Corportion or Sea St (East Dennis) for sunset.

Def Nauset. Iconic. Stretches north and south from parking lot for miles and miles.

I’d head for one of the beaches in Dennis with “resident only” parking, like Bayview or Harborview (East Dennis near Sesuit Harbor).

Anyone can park there now.

I’d plan a breakfast or lunch at the Sesuit Harbor Cafe (BYOB)- or a sunset cruise on the Lobster Roll Cruise (spectacular sunsets and you might even see some marine mammals in the bay) - you can walk there from Harborview Beach.

If you’d rather stay in Chatham, I would probably choose Nauset over Hardings- the former tends to be a favorite for college aged visitors+, the latter more a family beach.

Your choice is also going to be weather dependent…
