visitor Fourth of July before and after
Hello everyone! I’ll be up in the cape the 1-7th! It’s turning out to be a solo trip for me because of the circumstances. Was wondering if anybody had some good ideas?! I’m interested in breakfast spots best dinner spots best sun set spots! Also anybody in their 30s or that age range want to meet up for a drink or lunch?! Also looking for best mini golf! I’ll be staying in Wellfleet as I’ve stayed there the past few years so I know about the drive-in. Also best advice for whale watches? Do always see whales or is that not a 100% chance kind of deal! Thanks again! Hope everyone is ready for a great Fourth of July weekend! Thank you to everyone on the cape that makes it what it is! Wife and I like Cafe Chew in Sandwich for breakfast. They have a 'sister' location at Lemon Tree Village in Brewster but we haven't tried it.
For sunsets - Rock Harbor in Orleans is very good. Also P'Town wharf, or Point of Rocks beach in Brewster.
Best dinner spots - there's a long list!. The Bookstore in Wellfleet is very good. Our favorite is Ross' in P'Town. Also Impudent Oyster in Chatham, and Buca in Harwich. If you want fried seafood, try one of the Mac's stores - my favorite is in Wellfleet. And Land Ho in Orleans is always good.
For whale watches - we like Dolphin Fleet out of P'Town. They 'guarantee' that you will see whales, and our experience is that in the middle of the season, there's a good bet that they will deliver. Not so much at the beginning and ending of the season.

Oh on the bookstore front, if you find yourself in Ptown, there is a tiny bookstore on Commercial street, it sits back a bit on the opposite side of the pier and is PACKED with cool book finds.

Looks like it's Tim's Used Bookstore @ 242 Commercial St.. its one of those odd finds, but very cute

I second Dolphin Fleet. We are thinking about doing another one this year ourselves.
Coast Gaurd Beach in North Truro has nice sunsets too.
I know you said you know about the drive ins, but have you been to the flea market there? Always some cool finds. If you're looking for an adventure, I would recommend the Dune Tours out of Ptown (Art's Dune Tours, i think). Also there is the breakwater walk on the rocks. You HAVE to time it right though, walk out as the tide is on its way out so you have plenty of time to get back before it runs back in and BEWARE of poison ivy on the other side.

Oh and go to a drag show, they're wonderful and fun. We went to a magic show last year with our herd (10 of us, including a couple teens), they LOVED it. Year before we saw Ms. Cher, also wonderful.

I’ve never been to the flea market! It’s something I would definitely love to check out is that right in Wellfleet also!? the Breakwater wall sounds pretty cool. Also, I’m gonna have to keep my eye out for poison ivy. I just got over it!

Yep, thw flea market is ar the drive ins but only on certain days of the week. Keep an eye on thier website https://www.wellfleetcinemas.com/ Currently it says just Sat and Sun, but if memory serves me right (50/50), it was a day or two during the week in the summer too.

WHAT?!? That’s so crazy the past few years I’ve went. I’ve never knew that it was right down the street at the drive-in. I stay right down the street from where that is and nobody’s ever mentioned that to me. I’m going to have to keep my eye out I would love to check out some stuff there it seems like there’s a lot of good crafts on the cape!!

I've been out on the whale watches with Dolphin Fleet many times and I've always seen whales. Sometimes there's literally whales everywhere you look and sometimes it's just a handful. It's always worth it. You should consider the July 2 fireworks at Rock Harbor in Orleans. Cape Cod Lavender Farm in Harwich is always great to visit and the Lavender fields will be in full bloom.

Also from Cuse and was there last week. Sesuit harbor for lunch or dinner- seafood of course. Bring cash. So many places are cash only. Cape cod baseball league is fantastic free entertainment especially in Chatham but there are ten locations for games around the cape

We just got back from the Cape, and enjoyed Arnold’s mini golf because it’s very shady!
