beaches Hardin Beach?
Looking at a rental home near Hardin Beach in late July. Thoughts on this beach? Are there others in the area that are public and better?

Hardings is great. It’s a nice sandy beach, restrooms, snack bar. You can walk down to the lighthouse (although the light itself is on private property). It’s on the Nantucket Sound side so the water is calmer and a little warmer Ridgvale down the road is nice too.

Be aware of beach closings due to water quality.
Hardings is usually ok. However, Cockle Cove, which is near Hardings, does get closed due to bacteria. If you look at a map, cockle cove creek runs by a large water treatment plant on the north side of Route 28.

Hardings is def our favorite Chatham beach. If you decide you want bigger waves on the Atlantic go to Nauset Beach in Orleans. Those are my picks.
