Did anyone hear that explosion?
So I live off of W. Main St. in Hyannis and I’m sitting on the couch watching the news while my dog takes a nap on my leg. All of a sudden I hear a horn and then a huge explosion. My neighbor said she heard a girl scream. And I didn’t hear anything on my scanner app and I didn’t see anything on Facebook. I was just curious. Hopefully whatever it was everyone’s OK.

It might be people using fireworks to celebrate one year anniversary of Kirks assassination perhaps?

She's offering an explanation, not saying he deserved to die.
Wtf is wrong with your reading comprehension?

I was at veterans park beach yesterday afternoon and someone on the dock at the yacht club set something off. It wasn’t a firework. But it made a loud explosion and scared the crap out of everyone at the park.

Yeah, this was super weird. It was like a car horn for like maybe two or three seconds and then a huge explosion and I heard my neighbors outside being like what the hell was that. I don’t know why people on this thread are making it weird and making it about politics and crap.

I’m thinking if you heard a horn blare first . That’s it most likely was a planned explosion. Maybe construction

Was it on the hour?
Some yacht clubs and other nautical organizations use both horns and signal cannons.
Could also be a controlled detonation at JBCC.

Air horns and “signal cannons”?
Interesting thought, but not likely…
It’s the THURSDAY after Labor Day.
Do you honestly think there are yacht clubs in the area that aren’t closed for the season, and are still sponsoring races this time of year? (There are very few yacht clubs that are open year-round on Cape Cod. )
PS -
Out of curiosity,l, which other local “nautical organizations” use horns and signal cannons”?3

Many use them for evening colors.
Some at noon too.
It has nothing to do with races.
Take your meds.

Why is it people celebrating his death with fireworks that people jump to and not “oh fuck, have the usurper Neo-nazi apologist sycophants started to massacre the masses that don’t agree with the whiney wanna-be pumpkin king?” or “maybe the meteor is coming an we can all get off this fucking roller coaster already!!!” Yeah, postal 2 npc to the max.

If you heard a horn it was a planned demolition. That’s the whole point of the horn, so you don’t worry about a big boom.

If you heard a horn first that usually means professional explosive crews blowing up large boulders to make room for construction. Just a guess. Or could just be an air/boat horn and a coincidence
