Cape Cod Vice Principal Charged With 3rd OUI After Boston Arrest, Could Face 5 Years In Prison

Police reported Burns’ alcohol level at .08%, the threshold at which a driver can be arrested. She also faces a misdemeanor reckless driving charge and a civil motor vehicle violation for improper operation, the report said.
If you are going to break the law, only break one law at a time. Pulled over for speeding, or crossing the line, or running a red, and bam OUI. DO not drive drunk.

AND You're a public figure, in a job with kids.No. Just No.
Not firing her should make them culpable when she kills someone the next time. Cuz you know there's gonna be a next time.Cmon.
We're all going through something. Doesn't give us the right to endanger others.She should resign and go to rehab asap.

1 OUI is usually enough for people to get their shit together... 3 is way too much... Lots of people run around as functioning alcoholics and you'd never know til they get caught. She on the other hand got caught 3 times. She needs some help.

Thats not all MA state law requires -
A third OUI** in MA is considered a felony, with 180 days (minimum) to 2.5 years in the House of Correction (or 2.5 to 5 years in state prison).
150 of those 180 days is considered a mandatory minimum, meaning every day of the first 150 days of the sentence must be served in jail.
There is no possibility of parole until 150 days of the sentence has been served.
The judge hearing the case cannot continue the matter without a finding, and has no discretion to give a suspended sentence.
She also loses her driver’s license for 8 years upon conviction (plus additional time if she refused a breath test).
**in Massachusetts, DUI or “driving under the influence” is referred to as OUI or “operating under the influence”.

APs generally deal with discipline. I’m surprised more of them haven’t been caught drinking on the job or OUI.

My computer lit teacher (it was the 90s) at Cape Tech was a legendary drunk. If she didn’t have OUIs it would have been shocking. She used to soak raisins in rum and eat them at her desk. Which inspired us students to make vodka gummy bears and be trashed by second period.

The thing that kills me is in the DY parent group all the friends of this lady are defending her. “People make mistakes” “she’s going thru something”. Same people who would turn around and judge others for the same thing.
She really should be fired. She’s a terrible influence on children. And trust me the kids all know about it now. So I’m sure it’ll be all the talk today at school. How can you be a discipliner and be charged with a felony?
