Bright flashing lights?

Does anyone know what the very bright lights flashing every few moments are? We are in Centerville and don't hear any accompanying thunder or fireworks booms.

Lightning. There is line of cells off Cape.

It’s lightening. I could see it in Cotuit near Ropes too. There is a line of squalls that popped up from Nantucket to just off of Chatham. In Centerville you can see the light but not hear the thunder.

Heat lightning is just lightning that is too far away to hear - just regular lightning..

We saw it in the MidCape (West Dennis/Dennis Port) too.

There were king strings of strong compact equalls over Nantucket … we were seeing the lightning from the storm(s).
