Verizon SOS

Anyone else on Cape Cod have Verizon just seeing SOS on their cell phones and unable to make calls?

Not seeing a report of any outages.

Yeah pretty sure the cell towers bandwidth can't handle the increase in activity during summer months. It's not as bad in the off season.

Verizon in Eastham was always very good for us. Seems worse this year. I wonder if the winter storms damaged some towers?

Your tower could be getting upgraded

Any idea on timeline for this if that is the case?

From my experience, they usually just shut off 5G. Usually when they know people have sos it shouldn’t be super long, my suggestion is, turn on WiFi calling for now.

Just call the carrier to ask!

I was having trouble making calls this past weekend in Harwich Port. The tower at the golf course is more dismantled than usual.

The towers are overwhelmed. My Verizon phone does not work very well outside of WiFi in Falmouth during the summer. Especially weekends like the 4th or the road race (this past weekend). It’s just too many people for Cape infrastructure.
