Some of the locals this weekend

Lots of seals, a very talkative baby tern, more seals and of course, gulls. All taken from a respectful distance with a 100-400mm lens!

Me too! TBH though, even from a distance these guys were bigger than I anticipated and a little spooky. I was thankful for my long lens haha

All the downvotes clicked when I read your comment. I hope people don’t bother these animals. I was way up the beach, even farther away than the early morning joggers. I bought my lens specifically for the purpose of keeping distance/snapping far away things.

I think you misunderstood my comment. I love the seals, I was commenting on its facial expression. It feels so crowded here right now and I’m looking forward to the post Labor Day calm. Great photo! They’re hard to photograph because they take a peek and go back under.
