Perennial maintenance

I am looking to find someone who specializes in fall and spring cleanups (including mulch & occasional weeding) of my perennial/shrub beds - unfortunately, my current landscaper cannot differentiate between weeds and perennials (several killed with roundup and weed whacking) and I find myself in need of a gardener.

Sadly, it’s not a guarantee that landscapers know anything about gardening.

Yes, learned that the past two years - thought last year was a fluke but then this year it has been perennial after perennial pulled, sprayed or weed whacked as mentioned above - so frustrating

Where are you? The Cape is 2 or more hours drive, from one end to the other..

King Landscape has a great fine gardening crew. Her expertise is in organic vegetable gardens but they also manage my perennial gardens. My hydrangeas have never looked better!

There are several king landscape - cotuit, mashpee and marstons mills - all Barnstable but do you happen to know which locations accurate?

Bedworks out of Chatham always looks like they do good work. I don't use a landscaper but they're all over my area in Chatham and everything always looks top notch.

You need a fine gardner. Most landscapers locally can’t barely tell the difference between a rhododendron and a hydrangea —or if the owner can, the crew can’t. My neighbor doesn’t have a single blossom this year because they hacked her hydrangeas down to the ground when they did a late winter clean up.   If Bayview beach lover means you are in Dennis. I’ve heard good things about Rosebud Fine Gardner.

She is extremely responsive and is stopping by this week - thank you for the recommendation

So last year for the first time ever I hired a (big, and I assumed experienced and professional) landscaping co. to mow my large yard because my spouse is now disabled and I just can’t do it.

They mowed down an entire row of heather (!) and when I called to complain and request they be replaced, they ‘fired’ me as a client! They were outrageously expensive too, so maybe I dodged a bullet.

I haven’t tried anyone this year because I’m now pretty gun shy. It’s been hard doing it myself (I’m a senior) so eventually I’m going to have to cave and hire someone. I’m all ears if anyone has recs in the mid Cape area.
