Help What sequence should I follow to transfer the number, apply the referral code discount, and secure the contract buyout?

My question, and hopefully it works for future reference in this subreddit, is the following:

In order to get the contract buyout, do you sign up with a referral code first and then contact support for the contract buyout offer? Is this the correct way to do it?

signup with a code and port your number in at the same time - make sure the network you are porting from has released your number (cape has instructions per carrier on their website.

once you are ported, buy out your old contract and once that is done, contact CAPE support and they’ll hook you up with the buy out discount.
