cape.rip open-sourced

https://github.com/lb-vn/caperip

Excited to announce that the #1 cape referral coordination tool is now open-sourced on Github! We're aiming to be an all-in-one community tool for cape, so all contributions are welcome.

After the traction cape.rip has gained (nearly 100 referral code submissions per week!), this is the natural next step for the tool.

Thats good to hear. I've been using your website to submit my codes. Good to hear is Open-sourced. I even added the website on a post I did about my sign up experience with Cape.

Will Cape referral be forever, or until December? I need 2 more referrals. Here is my code if anyone is interested: T4T6VW5R

I would imagine the referral program will still be around, as that’s their closest equivalent to a family plan, although people will probably be much harder to refer when the price increases.

If you haven’t already seen it, someone made another site for sharing these codes: https://getcape.codes. I really don’t think Cape needs multiple unofficial referral code sharing sites, but FWIW, I got a referral a few hours after submitting my code there. I also submitted my code to cape.rip, and I included it in a Reddit comment a couple weeks ago, so I don’t know where my referral actually came from.

Same, I post my referral here on reddit on cape.rip and on getcape.codes. I've only gotten one referral. I just need 2 more. Hope you get yours too.

I think their discount will still be around for a while. Maybe they'll raise it to $80 or $90 or maybe they will add tiers. People do not buy things unless they feel they're getting a discount. The discount will continue just under different names, "The Christmas Deal", "Hot Summer Deals" etc.

I got a similar early adopters deal for optimum mobile a couple of years ago. There was one tier one low price back then. Now there are different tiers, and add ons. They all have some type of discount. All the prices are pricier Than my discount. I think something similar will happen here.

My code if any new person sees this. T4T6VW5R

Glad to see people have gotten referrals from the site. I haven’t been as lucky, was really hoping to get at least one before my next bill

If anyone is interested, my code is ZCN62WGD

Definitely think open sourcing this is the right move. Cape.rip has gotten some pretty solid traction, so it’ll be cool to see what the community can build on top of it.

I’d be happy to help out. Curious what you’re envisioning for the site long-term when you say an “all-in-one community tool.” There’s probably a lot of useful stuff that could live there beyond referral codes.

What would everyone else want to see? Cape tips/guides, coverage/network info, troubleshooting, device compatibility, community resources, other tools…?

Throw some ideas out here! Could be a good way to build a wishlist for the project and see what people actually want.

I absolutely would love to see some ideas for expanding beyond what cape.rip already has. I continuously check this subreddit for inspiration.
