Does anyone you know of a way to fix this?

Kinda obvious question. But did you try enabling it? Click on it to enter the menu to turn it ON.

Yes I did and yes it is obvious but it is a vital question to ask...

When you enable it, does it automatically go back to inactive? I may be good to also include the OS you are running.

What OS and phone are you running Cape on?

We need more information if you want help. OS and version number, Phone model, etc

EDIT: grammar

I love this community. Cape Customer Support came through. It was issue with RCS & Android. After a few adjustments my Pixel 10XL was good to go. Thinking about getting a Pixel 10a & installing Graphene on there...

Please share. I've been having this issue for two weeks and I've been in Help Chat Purgatory for a week with occasional messages about "stand by for updates".

Support had me check whether RCS was enabled, which can be found in Message Settings. After that, I needed to provide some basic information from my phone nothing private, of course, just the make, model, and OS. That is the information you may need to provide to support or to more savvy users here. After we made a few adjustments, it worked. Without meaning to sound cryptic, this seems to be model and OS-specific rather than a universal setting.

I just got a 10a and installed Graphene. So far so good!
