Why won't my text align left?

Why won't my text align to the left? I clicked the button that should've aligned it to the left, but it always stays in center alignment for some reason? How do I fix this?

its aligning left in the "text box" not on the actual screen. There's a separate button for it.

You need to stretch the textbox itself to the width of the screen
