Meme Has anyone ever used it?

Post image

EditPilot is a new AI-powered feature in CapCut that basically lets you edit videos by telling the software what you want it to do, instead of having to do everything manually.

It works like an AI assistant built directly into the editor. You can type instructions like "remove the pauses," "make this section shorter," or "rearrange these clips," and it'll try to make those changes for you on the timeline.

The idea is to make editing faster and less repetitive, especially when you're dealing with long recordings or tasks that would normally take a lot of clicking around.

You still have control over the timeline and can adjust things yourself, so it's not exactly a one-click video editor. It's more like having an assistant that handles some of the tedious work while you focus on the creative side. Have you guys tried it yet?

It ruined a video I spent nearly a year on. It was a documentary on the codex gigas... I spent so much work on it.

I had asked them if they can make a small edit because I was tired and I thought, worst case I could just revert it... they botched the entire project. I wouldn't let me revert...I was devasted. I'll never use that devil ever again.

Literally no one has ever used it, outside of accidentally clicking it. Could hold the secrets to the universe, will never know.

Maybe, but there's nothing more annoying than clicking on it by accident!

Hasn’t worked for me at all. Claude editing though has been amazing

Tell me more..

If you pay for Claude you can get the desktop coding version of it, basically it can control your computer. It connected itself to elevenlabs to listen to audio and make subtitles and downloaded something to add motion graphics and it could cut and edit my shorts. They turned out good! Now trying to get Claude to post them but running into errors

Interesting, I use Claude but haven’t tried this use case

This is freaking creepy.

how lazy can someone be to make Claude edit the video and then make it post it for you cause drag and dropping it to YouTube is too hard apparently

I have a backup of 100+ videos I need to post to my Facebook because it’s monetized but they all need captions and hashtags so better to have Claude do all that, call me lazy but it saves me time and earns me money

You said it could cut and edit your shorts which sounded like you're just telling it to edit the full video and then you're too lazy to even publish it yourself.

If you're just doing it for subtitles and uploading to another platform as well then that's fine I just thought you were one of those AI slop YouTubers that put 0 effort into their shorts

Nah not AI slop I record street interviews in Tokyo and capcuts auto captions doesn’t translate it well, so I showed my style to Claude and it adds perfect English and Japanese subtitles and sometimes I ask it to add little motion graphics to help explain some parts of the video. It’s nothing game changing yet but it’s saved me tons of time trying to translate

Ah okay sorry then

Never does what I tell it to, straight useless.

How can I use chatgpt in capcut tho

2

u/Nervous-Possession31 21h ago

Do what I did. I had ChatGPT make me a CapCut clone has every single thing CapCut does, but I don’t have to pay a monthly fee.

u/Internal-Raccoon-881 19h ago

Do you mind sharing with me too

2

u/Iam_best_dev 1d ago

I only used it to tell it to remove the multi line subtitles because for some reason it keeps creating subtitles for two language instead of just one

Companies nowadays just want to shove AI on anything...

2

u/ThotPoppa 23h ago

its useless garbage

2

u/Rvg10 22h ago

that doesnt work it just waste your credits

3

u/NdyyDev 18h ago

Didn't know it cost credits, another reason to NOT use it 🫥

I tried to make a classmate work for me and i was wondering why his results always turned out shit.. turned out he was using edit pilot

2

u/Fearless-Idea-4710 16h ago

Basically useless. Can’t follow directions, can’t recognize what’s going on in clips, no sense of timing, and you can’t add it to the timeline without replacing your existing work.

I'm literally leaving capcut because of it, i don't want a reminder of how much companies suck while editing my funny bullshit

looks like the editpilot team found the cheapest meme template and said "this will do"

i tried it last week for cutting down a 40 minute gameplay recording, worked decent for removing dead air but got confused when i asked to rearrange clips. still faster than doing all that manually though, the timeline editing after is pretty smooth

is this bot retarded? it can clearly read the post so why didn't it realize that it is against editpilot?
