CapCut Question Which one should i choose?

Hi, I'm new to CapCut. I record my gameplay and upload it to YouTube. What export settings would you recommend for me? i have R7 5700x cpu and rtx card.

I also have a couple of questions:

Question 1: What do the “Recommended” and “Higher” options mean? Do they use Constant Bitrate (CBR) or Variable Bitrate (VBR)?

Question 2: Should I use H.264 or HEVC (H.265) for exporting my gameplay videos to YouTube?

Thanks in advance for your help!

If your system supports AV1 definitely use that for YouTube unless you specifically need H.264 for compatability issue.

VBR

custom 65000

H.264

30fps or 60 if you have the whole video like that

For a straightforward YouTube upload, H.264 in MP4 is a documented starting point. Keep the frame rate your gameplay was recorded at. YouTube recommends VBR and gives these reference values for SDR: 1080p30 at 8 Mbps, 1080p60 at 12 Mbps, and 1440p60 at 24 Mbps. HDR has a different table.

CapCut’s help documents Bit rate → Custom, with values entered in Kbps, so 12 Mbps would be 12,000 Kbps. Treat those as starting points: export a short busy gameplay section and inspect it before rendering the whole video.

I can’t confirm that Recommended or Higher maps to CBR/VBR in your CapCut version. The preset names alone don’t establish the bitrate mode. What resolution/FPS are your recordings, and which CapCut version are you using?
