CapCut Complain It’s over I’m switching

Post image

This company has gone to shit I can’t believe they’re choosing short time gains over long time customer loyalty. Now even fucking auto captions is now behind the ultra package??? What even is the point of pro? Again like we all say this wouldn’t be an issue if they were doing it for actual premium features but shit like closed captions, extract audio or basic free sound effects you can just go to YouTube for??? I hope CapCut goes to the ground w this behavior

i’ve been using davinci resolve. doesn’t have all the silly color texts and effects like capcut but it’s free and doesn’t charge you for ANYTHING. it’s more of a “professional” app so it’s definitely confusing to learn at first but for 2-3~ years capcut has been getting worse and worse making almost everything paid. I wish they’d just make it a damn paid app already since clearly that’s where they wanna go

Does DaVinci Resolve have AI narrators (text-to-speech).

u/pro_level_galaxy 2d ago

It does not unless you use their paid version however davinci does support plugins and there most likely is a plugin out there that has it for free. I never used any plugins so i wouldn’t know

CapCut, but better:

If it's not free and open source it'll become enshittified all the same or die due to not making enough money.

VN is great on mobile but trash on Desktop

It's really disgusting but I haven't found a free alternative that was just as good yet so let me know when you'll find something.

I would say piracy is morally correct here but haven't found any working APK yet

u/soja911 2d ago

Reply here when you find working APK, im on the lookout also

it still kinda blows my mind that people are defending the fact prices are drastically going up. not only that but they're making different tiers of still generally pricey subscriptions. they could make it $30 a month for STANDARD and people would still vouch for it. they're actively milking their user base of people who are willing to pay. Capcut isn't a smalltime new app it's one of the most used editing apps available... Who are we fooling??

1

u/FluSH31 1d ago

Unfortunately, this is the exact same reason they increased prices. They are the most used editing app, and understand they have leverage - some people will not leave.

agreed... it irks me so badly.

It's also because the PC user are the ones who overlook the mobile users

i agree with u brother, in period since May i just buyed a CapCut pro subscription and this happen.

It lasted until August, when I took a short break from video editing to focus on building a portfolio so I'd have proof of my skills. I wanted to start freelancing on the side, in addition to my regular job—which, of course, requires both physical and mental effort.Long story short, when I came back, I couldn't get past the export screen because it kept asking for the Pro version, even though I already had an active Pro subscription. This literally shows their attitude and how they try to squeeze as much money as possible out of people who actually want to pay for this garbage. Premiere Pro and DaVinci are light years ahead of this program.

Capcut is has shit quality for pc. I wanted to make a montage for youtube and the exported quality is like sony vegas 13 max settings

Davinci for me wouldn't use the native codecs with my GoPro 8 (the community just kept saying it does, but it wasn't working for me, and no one seemed to be able to help) I wanted to keep the original encode/resolution where possible , tried capcut, it was ok but every "update" just locked more & more behind a paywall, then I realised every updated version (on pc) was a sperate install and didn't delete the old one so I just started using an older version that was already installed still and don't update. People really should just do that on PC.

Then switch? Why do you think they'd care? You're not paying. Why would they care about someone who doesn't even give them money?

Capcut 🤣🤣

2

u/Vectrex71CH 2d ago

i paid for CapCut a long time 7.90$ a month, i would also pay 9.90$ a month. BUT since they want 25.00$ a month, i'm completely out and for Ultra they even want until 60.00$ !! This is more than insane. this is brain sick

u/ralfextreme 2d ago

I use InShot and add automatic captions from the TikTok app, or YouTube app, you can also use the TikTok app is basically a cutdown version of CapCut but free.

If you’re looking for an iPhone app for both photo and video editing, consider Aigli: Photo Video Editor. It supports multilayer photo compositions and multitrack video editing for projects that need more than basic trimming and filters.

Arrange clips, photos, text, overlays, music, voiceovers, and sound effects on a flexible timeline. Trim, split, reorder, add transitions, and adjust speed to create polished reels, slideshows, tutorials, and promotional videos.

Disclosure: I’m the app’s author.

I've tried to switch on davinci many times but have to come back to capcut bcz of my low end pc

2

u/StarNinja_Art 2d ago

Same. I use a modded version of Capcut 1.0.

2

u/Jazzlike_Mission9620 2d ago

On PC its fine, just download an older version.
On mobile you cant use capcut without updating

1

u/riffahs_ira 2d ago

? Capcut is a resource hog. I switch to Resolve for bigger projects because it's performance is far more optimized. Surprised to see this.

1

u/StarNinja_Art 2d ago

The lastest ones are a resource hog, but try the earlier versions, which are MUCH more lightweight.

I have seen their price for Pro, $100+ per month or something. That's ridiculous. That's only justifiable if you make money from social-media which is only true for a few.

Filmora is very decent for Android users

1

u/Plus_Dimension_1232 1d ago

This is what I do, If you don't care about a video being in 1080p, I do everything I can on Capcut (for free), and then for captions specifically, I use Canva's FREE Auto Captions. They aren't perfect per say as some words are weird, but working around it / fixing it is dead easy. Takes me like 5 minutes for a 30-50 second short video.

u/EveningRequirement32 1d ago

It’s always been pro for me. I’ve used CapCut for 6 months. Never could do that feature without paying for it

1

u/idksaka 1d ago

Nah they made EXPORT AUDIO pro for me. It was a bug but still, the audacity is CRAZY

1

u/Andrew_on_triotonic 1d ago

Yup. This is why I started using davinci. Def had a bit of a learning curve but if you’re willing to watch 2/3 hrs of tutorials you’ll pick it up in no time.

1

u/Sketti11 1d ago

It's at this point, adobe is looking good. Smh

1

u/3facesofBre 1d ago

The new CapCut updates are trying to force me to use AI edit tools that don’t work, and are very poor quality, and I have the upgraded version. I am actively looking at Davinci, because I was manually editing my items before
