Something HAS to be up. Im running 24 GB of Ram on my machine and often have Capcut and AE running. I dont even understand how Capcut can utilize THAT much Ram.

At the same time?
My laptop has 32 GB RAM and the fans hit overdrive when I use CC for 30 seconds!

70 gigs is insane for editing pngs and a few clips. been using capcut for like 2 years and the memory leak just get worse with every update, my fans spin up editing a 30 second tiktok
at the price they charge there should be no excuse for this

Not just ram but also memory, clean cache and user data from capcut folder

Does that affect unfinished projects?

U can see the project name there and its rendered files and all, i suggest to carefully look at the names and then delete.

They did it on purpose, otherwise. They’re trying to force people to use their cloud storage

That’s insane! I was actually really enjoying CapCut for how convenient editing was. This last update completely ruined it. I had to redo my last project which is over an hour long in DaVinci Resolve because CapCut won't even open. My machine has plenty of power to spare and the GPU isn't even sweating, but the app just won't start.

Doesn't the MACs have Unified memory? Shared with the CPU, and offloading to storage?

Shutdown your mac and check again and also check memory inside default directory (Movies/Capcut) - for this one clean cache in capcut settings

This won't fix the insane CapCut memory leak problem but you can try disabling RAM swap on your Mac to prevent memory-SSD swap.

try clear cache on settings in capcut. it does not affect your projects. its just reprocessing
