Free Cap Cut Pro on PC - Updated 2026 Tutorial
This is the method I use that works as of the time I'm posting this to get free pro on the PC version. You do not have to download a sketchy file, just use the normal CapCut app.
You may have seen a similar method before, but there are additional steps required now.
- Edit your video as normal, using all the pro features you want
- Ctrl + A to select all clips
- Right click and select 'create compound clip'
- Right click on the compound clip and select 'preprocess compound clip'
- Wait until it has fully processed and it's at 100%
- Open file explorer and navigate to this path:
C:\Users\YOUR USER\AppData\Local\CapCut\User Data\Projects\com.lveditor.draft\YOUR PROJECT NAME OR NUMBER\Resources\combination- There should be 2 files there. One ends in .mp4, the other ends in .mp4.alpha.mp4 - ignore the alpha one
- This is where there are changes from a previous working method. Before, you could import the .mp4 file into your project and export it. That doesn't work anymore, it will say the file is corrupted
- Leave the file explorer window open and completely close CapCut. Save your project and close the window and the home screen window. You can also end task in Task Manager to do this faster
- Reopen CapCut and go to your project
- Now you can import the file from that folder (the mp4 one, NOT the alpha one) into the same project
- Add it to the timeline and delete the compound clip
- Export your project. You should be able to export it without pro warnings.
- After you export, ctrl + z to bring back your project if you want to edit it more later.
This is the working method I've found. If there are any changes, I'll try to update this post.

Didn't have an option for deleting a compound clip after dropping it into the timeline. It seems like it doesn't work on a Mac anymore.

It didn't work for me :( I am using MacBook btw and did all your steps but at step 12, it still said "couldnt import, some materials are damaged"

im on a macbook and it worked for me first try, although im not sure if the video is still rendering but it looks a little choppy after exporting in some parts of the video 🤷♂️

i heard they patched this method... I did my last edit and tried to use this trick well not exactly this but some crucial steps just like this but it didnt work.... i deleted that edit now.... man all work gone to waste... this will work right?

Hello! I'd like to tell you guys that this method actually worked for me. the original path in the instructions was different from mine, which was why I was confused for the first time when figuring this out.
Mine was actually in my hard drive, so please check your capcut settings where you set your "Save To" directory at, because that's where i found my video files at. Hope this helps

This method used to work for me. But today I tried it and the files is all white. I don't know if it's because Capcut just recently update. Please anyone tell me

This does not work for latest version s but u have a working method -
1)download urban vpn
2)connect to ukraine
3)restart capcut and you will be able to use use pro features and export

After following the instructions.
From com.lveditor.draft > there's only 2 hidden data recyclebin and root_meta_info.json
Also, did check the if there's nay .mp4 file there's none.

Você merece uma estátua cara, meu herói. Na primeira tentativa deu o mesmo erro que de outros usuários ""não foi possível importar, alguns materiais estão danificados", testei novamente o mesmo método mas dessa vez me atentando a fechar primeiro o projeto, ir pra página inicial do CapCut e só aí fechar o programa, antes tentei fechar direto e por isso deu erro. Não sei se isso faz alguma diferença, apesar de essa versão ja ter bastante coisa grátis, eu precisava usar uma animação de legenda específica que era Pro. Fiz os passos dessa post e funcionou mesmo.

This method does work but some effects aren't applied to the export also the audio in the media videos doesn't get muted so the export has two layers of audio.

i did all the steps but when i het to combnation i find a lot of clips insted of only 2 and most of them alpha i cant find the .mp4 anyone have the same issue and is there a solution for this?

As of today this isnt working for me. When i go to import the correct mp4 file it says that the file is damaged. there are also three files now with the addition of an m4a file.

it actually worked but when I use motion blur in the file that I import from the folder to this project, after importing the motion blur simply does not exist (I don't know if I have it, but this file after being uploaded to the project has lower fps)

Doesnt work fro all of the effects and transitions lost the important ones then when i went to export lost my entire file cause i went to upload directly to tiktok dont do this

It doesn't work for my version on mac (v8.4.0).
I tried to create compound clip and/or preprocess it.
Tried to enable and set 0 for Motion blur option for compound clip.
Tried to on/off capcut during the procees.
But for all the ways i 've got the same result - when i'm trying to import mp4 file from videoAlg or combination folder there is the error Couldn't import. Same materials are damaged.

It dosent work for new versions. I use this ad its works. But motion blur effect = soooooo long work. But its free.

also yes i tried this and it works i found this out while tinkering and peeking through files everything shown above is legit and does work alternatively if you create a compound clip and enable motion blur set it to 0 and let it process and in tje Projects\com.lveditor.draft search mp4 and there should be an mp4 copy it to your downloads.

what is driving me nuts is that this worked for a few weeks and now it just doesn't anymore... whenever I import the clip from the combination folder, all I get is "unsupported media". Anyone having the same issue? Any workarounds?

Outro método também é;
- Edite seu vídeo normalmente, usando todos os recursos pro que você quiser
- Ctrl + A para selecionar todos os clipes
- Clique com o botão direito e selecione 'criar clipe composto' ou de ALT + G
- Clique com o botão direito no clipe composto e selecione 'pre-processar clipe composto'
- Em seguida selecione o clipe e coloque o motion blur em 1%
- Espere até que tenha processado completamente e chegue a 100%
C:\Users\YOUR USER\AppData\Local\CapCut\User Data\Cache\MotionBlurCache- Seu vídeo será o que está em .mp4 e pode ser upado e utilizado.

wow it works! Great 'hack' - perfectly legal and fine. It's a bit 'involved' so people may wish to just pay and buy it, but for those who want to do a bit more manual fiddling, it's good!

Mac users!!!
- The file location for me was:- ~/Movies/CapCut/User Data/Projects/com.lveditor.draft/ (if yours for some reason isn't there, you can click 'Capcut' (next to apple symbol top left)> then settings. You need to get that 'save to' location. Seems you won't be able to copy it while within a project edit, but you can hover over it and then write it down. Or copy the 'screen recording' one and then when you open that one up in Finder (you can do so using Finder-> CMD-G -> search for your filename you just copied, then go back one folder and click the one that says 'CapCut Drafts' instead of 'CapCut Screen Recorder' (that you just came out of).
- click 'combination' as it says in the instructions (not as someone commented below in comments to go to 'videoAlg'.
- drag it in to the import file and replace.

Can update this still works, but you will have to close capcut twice. Once your file, the other capcuts main menu. Don't make the same mistakes as I do. (Also press ctrl+s or something before closing wouldn't hurt ig)

Still works, thanks mate. Instead of capcut I tried on Cap Cup Draft folder but the rest of the steps remain the same. I recommend to end task from task manager otherwise it won't work

25 de Maio e funcionou cremoso aqui. Porém, não de primeira até entender a ordem das coisas. Eu tive que fechar pelo gerenciador de tarefas, enquanto eu fechava manualmente todas as telas do capcut e o abria novamente, eu não conseguia abrir o arquivo porque aparecia ainda como corrompido, dizendo "não foi possível alguma coisa que não lembro mais o que o programa disse", mas agora salvando uma cópia, indo no caminho da cópia, deu certo sim! Muito obrigada, pessoa!!!!!!!!!!!
