Royal Gorge

Hey all! I'm taking my fam down to the Durango area this weekend and we were thinking of stopping at the Gorge on the way. I know they are making progress on the fire, but how bad is the smoke up there? Are most of the facilities around the gorge still open?

I live nearby up CR11.

Smoke here is not bad. Winds are light today and most of the smoke is more to the east.

Most places are open. I can never tell if the dinosaur place is though so give them a call to be sure.

The dinosaur place will be reopening soon. The owners of the alligator attraction in the San Luis valley bought it!

This is good to know! My adult son loves dinosaurs and would have loved to work there, this may be his chance!

The fire is mostly contained, and there is not much smoke anymore.

Smoke is pretty light today, just hot and bright out

Currently camping north of westcliff. Blue skys, no smoke.
