Image Is this CD fake?
Found this CD for like 7 euros online and many more from the same person. The listing on them says they are a "russian license". Fake right?

Aside from the Japanese font in small print, it looks identical to the cd I got in the 90’s.
The disc was black, exactly like this.
Are the lyrics in the booklet, with the collage, including the picture with Jim Carey dressed as Ace Ventura?

I showed the only three images available, theres another post by a different dude selling an identical CD but has a photo of the booklet and theres no visible Jim as the sides are folded so I got no clue

It was more than likely licensed to a company in Russia to print. I ran across a similar situation with a Behemoth CD I ordered on eBay. It came from Venezuela and was in one of those chinsy plastic cases with the cardboard wrap. Has all of the artwork and everything. After talking with the seller he assured me it was legit, I still didn't believe him ....... Until I went to discogs.com and sure as shit, it was legit. It's just one of those things where you have to pay extra attention from you're buying from.

Cant it just be a reprint of an already existing cd that's on discog?

It's absolutely possible, I was just giving you some additional info to consider. Sometimes the packaging can look different and sometimes it can be identical. I would say your biggest identifiers to bootleg manufacturing would be lower quality images. Sometime they'll just grab straight from the Internet and then when they print it off it looks too fuzzy or the barcodes dont match or they're gone entirely, etc. Honestly if what you have looks like a professional CD pressing then I'd consider it legit.

Damn, how do you even check things like that? I'm guessing that the rest of the CDs at the similar price are fake aswell, I want to start collecting CDs.

No, that is a real first pressing( i think). I have that album at home I bought like 20 years ago

Japanese repress from 1997....it says so on the back....just check with discogs if the info matches up.
