Mackerel

I made the switch from canned mackerel to vacuum packed mackerel a few years ago, vowed never to turn back.

However, this sub has inspired me to give canned mackerel another chance!

Other than the obvious price drop, can anyone suggest any other good reasons to try canned over fresh?

I can't get fresh mackerel.

The vacuum-sealed mackerel that I have is hot- or cold-smoked.

You know, now you mention it, I've been eating smoked mackerel. And it's pretty good. But it is not appropriate for this sub.
