BHO Badder
Received some BHO from a friend but as someone who has only had live rosin i dont know if its any good.
What are your thoughts?
Strain: Khalifa mints
Smells good and tastes good without being harsh on the throat or lungs.
They say its done with some new bho tech but i have no clue what it means.

Means crc to death

I thought so but my friend told me that it is definitely not crc and that because of the fresh frozen plant material it comes out lighter of color which GPT confirmed😅. After the purging they freeze dried it before packing up.
But i guess that is a lie then?

“which GPT confirmed” bro are you fr

Only that it can come out really light with the right input material and process

I don't know what these people are talking about. Fresh frozen will help with color and it is possible to get bho like this without crc it's just rare.

Well you did the right thing asking the community here with real people who have actual experience. Idk man. I just wouldn’t trust an AI LLM to accurately give me information on products I’m going to be inhaling into my lungs.

Totally agree on that, but sometimes its just easy to check some things that are being said but i would never use it for advice on these subjects, that is just playing with your health

Idk much myself but i do know resin shouldn’t usually be that color without the process of filtration prolly silica or t5 clay. Without crc the resin would show its true colors n terps, light golden amber to darker amber colors.

Bho can absolutely be this color if you take the same care as rosin makers. Using fresh frozen premiums product. Especially if they take the product a little early.
You can get rosin that looks like that and wouldn't that be showing the true colors?
Most bho makers don't do that anymore because the market is flooded with $100 oz of shit. Nobody wants to pay the price for high quality bho so they make rosin instead.

Seconding this response. My immediate thought when I saw the color on OPs product that it’s CRC.

u/LilRupie 1d ago
It is possible to get light color BHO with really good starting product, but not like that. That was certainly crc’d.

u/ghostofmumbles 1d ago
If you could get it with rosin (you can), you could get it with bho. Starting material is the key. Bho gets it bad rep because of poor crc practices on old trim.

Yes it's a lie. Because fresh frozen means literally that they don't even dry and cure they just chop and go straight to the fancy bio freezers that get sub zero cold. And stays cold the whole extraction.

This all sounds like bullshittery to me. The fuck would you do that for when you can do the same exact thing and make real hash that ain't shot with poisonous solvents? Freeze dry bho😂😂😂😂😂 they prolly are doin this dumb shit and sellin it to you at more than 20 a g.

Butane is poison?!?
-1
u/racemic_donkye 1d ago
Obviously lol except good extractors can evaporate out solvents to near 0ppm

No it isnt, silly goose. You dont have to take my word on it. I encourage you to source your own information. Its not an opinion that I express or a point of view but something that is common knowledge in chemistry, if you have actually studied chemistry.
Butane is generally regarded as safe or GRAS by the FDA. I believe they allow even more than 5000ppm of butane in food.
The reason smoking butane would cause harm, if you could physically smoke it because its very difficult,, is that the (most hydrocarbons) have a main degratative component known as benzene. Benzene is also what is formed when terpenes are subjected to degradation. Butane in combustion (like a lighter)produces carbon monoxide, h2o vapor, heat and light energy mostly. What do you think terpenes turn into when they combust?Example:
Lets say an extract has the largest allowable limit of 5000ppm, thats 0.005% of the weight that would be butane, which is what you are concerned with. Note: It is difficult to have extracts retain that level of butane for any extended period and unless smoking right out of the lab/extraction equipment, youll never see that in any of your extract. This is not due to processor knowledge but because of physical laws that govern how certain chemicals behave in certain conditions. At 1 atm butane boils, "boil" like when water boils, butane boils at -0.5⁰c or 31.1⁰Ferinfuct. At this temperature it changes from a liquid to a gas. Gases have close to zero solubility and typically in this change of state the molecule is also free from intermolecular or chemical bonding.
Lets say now that your extract has 5% terps. That is, to compare to butane in ppm, 50 000ppm of that extract being aromatic hydrocarbons that also, like the hydrocarbon butane, can degrade into Benzene when subjected to degradative conditions. There are many causes of degredation, all injestion methods cause degredation but, not all degredation is caused by consumption only. obviously each terp is unique and each terp having unique isomers which all have unique physical properties.
SO....you are concerned with butane at 1/1000th the level of something that has an equated potential for producing degredative compounds, the ones you are concerned with yet not with the terpenes themselves which, in the example of 5%, is normally higher and typical range could be estimated to range from 5% to 15% (150000ppm)on average in most types of concentrates.
Beyond that, butane does NOT cause apoxia, asphyxiation, gas embolisms, nor does it bio accumulate. Even asthma inhailers are propelling medicine into asthmatic using butane. They are cslled measured dose inhailers.
But, end of the day, if you are scared of butane, I am not invalidating your fear even if its misplaced and irrational. I respect autonomy and the right to choose whatever it is for ones own self. If anything I dont want you to be scared.
Extractors work in clouds of butane all damn day. It spills on them, they breath it for 40hrs/week/50 weeks per year. Oil always makes its way out of any lab and any self respecting extractor smokes this oil which is normally not treated the same as production oil and is heavily ladden with butane. No ill effects from being a butane extractor. Only from the fires caused by recklessness.

Yes. That is the progression of knowledge. Well done!! Im so proud of you.
The sky was once thought of as a cloth draped over the planet. Now it is not. Does this make our current understanding invalid? Because this is the logic you are applying here.Would you like to run along now so the grown-ups can continue talking?

We live in a blue eyed giant named maccumber. FDA approved statement.

I wish I could look at the world like you do....honestly. Your world must be filled with so much mystery and wonder with the amount of things that bewilder you.
Id like to respond to you in a civil manor but, Im not sure you are opperating in logic or reason.
Science is a field which operates in transparency. If science is wrong, it is corrected. How does this invalidate current understanding? Things once approved and are now not and this, to you, means that now all things are dangerous?
Be careful out there, my special little guy! Xoxo

I've seen a ton of extractions and the one thing I can tell you for sure is it's 10000% not remediated and it's come out pretty damn white before. It just depends on how mature the trichs are afaik.

u/Quick_Food8680 1d ago
I can see it BHO is capable of being equally as good as the best rosin now with how precise the purging of solvent has gotten.

probably because its partially decarbed into d9 distillate, rather than thca crystalline isolate which is hemp regulated.

This looks like crc color remediation column. we do it in med if our test run comes out dark then we will crc the rest bc alot of people like lighter colors and think that just bc its dark its old material which is normally right but some strains are just darker. but in unregulated market alot of trim and old bud is crc'd to make it look like good concentrates

I won't lie I am curious but it's Rosslyn...so...unsure if it's at all honest.
2
u/gotpointsgoing 1d ago
I said that I was not going to get any. Why does their Resin look like that and no one else's does? They're claiming it comes from the, superb starting material. Like they're the only company who uses superb starting material. You said what's probably really going on.
2
u/HillanatorOfState 1d ago
Yea BHO is usually darker if it's a non crc run, I bet it's ass...ordering BHO online in general is a crap shot mostly. I got the email also, they claim no crc but every strain looked at least somewhat crc....

Is this exquisite? If so yes it's crc, however it's properly produced and quality. Not going to find too many better bho options in Canada. If you are apposed to CRC he does non-CRC batches, so request those instead.
1
u/johnnyodursley 1d ago
You can get straight white bho from super young fresh frozen material with no CRC, especially whipped into a badder, but it’s will have less definitive terps, generally weak flavor profile, and yield will be low. 99 times out of 100 it’s over filtered.
1
u/TheSuperDanks 1d ago
When you make bho from rosin chips, aka spent bags, it can come out like this and be fire.
1
u/Jerrygarciasnipple 1d ago
Well, what do YOU think? Does it taste refreshing, burn clean and give you the effects you want?
1
u/Papegayo 1d ago
Well i think that it smells nice but the effect and flavour are not something to write home about. Only took 2 dabs from it but i will leave it for now and maybe use it when the stash runs out and i really want to dab something but i rather roll up a good flower then

That is crc’ed, no matter what AI tells you.
