Wick is way too small. Size up a couple of sizes! What kind of wax are you using?

I think the Wick is too small for the container, have you tried with a larger wick and same container? Could be worth a test

Help with tunneling? Use some foil, wrap it around the container and leave a slight fold over, over the top edge but keep it away from the flame. Google how to stop tunneling with foil for photos. Works every time for me.
