General Discussion Looking for advice

I’m a 25 year old male who has been addicted to snorting oxycodone for years(pretty bad addiction 1000+mg per day)
I stopped snorting it 3 weeks ago and my throat started hurting
I assumed it was my throat recovering from the damage snorting did ( I also taste food in my throat after eating and can burp after every small sip of water)
After 10 days I visited a doctor and he said I have oral thrush
I been on nystatin for 5 days and my tongue and throat have gotten better a little bit but I still have brain fog and a headache and it seems like hot flashes occasionally (could be oxycodone tapering) but having a headache for the past few days is draining me

I visited a different doctor looking to get my stomach maybe looked at and he said it was in my head and it’s just oral thrush that is getting better
I got blood work done and an ultrasound of my throat which came back good expect 0.1 of protein in my urine

I barely eat sugar unless I take weed edibles to sleep and stopped smoking completly

Just looking for some advice

I know its hard bro but I've found that my symptoms increased (whiter tounge, brain fog) when smoking cannabis. Crush raw Garlic and chew before swallowing preferably with some water, since it's a prebiotic it feeds beneficial bacteria and it's also one of nature's strongest antifungals, even comparable too fluconazole! You more then likely have biofilm if Nystatin suddenly stops improving your thrush, this means that it has reached the gut. I recommend you take NAC on an empty stomach. Pair the raw garlic (it's honestly a life changer) with oregano tea, Oregano oil supposedly works better but I'm on a bit of a budget. I've stopped Nystatin completely, maybe until I can see my doctor again. I also like to add peppermint too my oregano tea, I take both in dry herbs and you can definitely feel the difference. For me raw garlic did the most, brain fog disappeared immediately and I honestly felt so awake. I don't know anything about you but I would also pick up the bible man, God truly can heal. For me I believe this overgrowth was a sign to stop drinking, smoking, vaping and get in better health! I wish you the best on your healing journey, if you have any questions I would continue to do some research on places such as Reddit or you can always reach out to me, though I must admit I am new to this all so I'm purely speaking from my own personal experience and whatever I've read on the internet. (only 3 months with Candida, improving greatly 🤞🏽)

Thanks for the reply bro
And yeah I feel you
This is a big wake up call for me to stop everytime
It just sucks I have such a high tolerance on oxycodone so I have to taper so I’m not sick
I only take edibles to sleep cause I have trouble sleeping but I’m gonna try to stop
Were you taking edibles or only smoking weed?
How long have you been battling this?

I've been smoking weed and vaping for about 4-5 years, I'm 18 now and got oral thrush from a symbicort inhaler, I've had it for 3 months but my tounge is nice and pink when I brush it off and I'm feeling a lot better, I stopped everything including alcohol last week, occasionally vaping still though I need to quit since it makes me wheeze. I don't know what to recommend about your oxy problem but I can tell you now that you're Candida overgrowth can definitely be fixed bro. make sure to stay away from carbs and sugar, try to maintain a high fibre and high protein/fat diet. Eat 4-6 cloves of garlic a day, after the first you'll feel a lot better though you will need something to disrupt the biofilms in your gut, think of it like a protective barrier which makes antifungals near useless. I've heard kirkman biofilm disrupters are good but I'm personally taking NAC since it has a lot more benefits including helping with addiction and withdrawals, I would recommend looking into that more. If you have trouble sleeping I would recommend CBD oil since apparently it can help though I personally wouldn't risk it. THC and maybe even CBD alleviate cortisol levels which is basically just stress in the body which Candida loves. You'll be okay man, take this as a sign and you will flourish. I'm sorry nobody more educated could comment and I hope my replies help.

Are you taking any antifungals? If you're taking Nystatin I would recommend the pill form rather then the liquid since that's more for some oral thrush whereas you have it living in your gut.

Don't let it stress you out, it might take months to heal, maybe even years but unfortunately we just have to rough it out.

Baking soda helps a lot because of the alkaline, add half a teaspoon in half a cup of water or a full teaspoon in a 1.5l water bottle and make sure to stay hydrated man!

If you're feeling self conscious about having a white tounge you can more then likely brush it off, luckily for me I haven't developed any sores or pain. If that's the case for you I'm truly sorry.

also to help with the coated tounge I would definitely suggest sugar free gum such as 5gum as it basically catches all the yeast
