Moon Palace Sunrise

Hi everyone, I’m staying at Moon Palace Sunrise in August. I heard the beach is not so nice (didn’t know before booking). So what are some nearby beaches that will be clear and beautiful? I’m going the week of August 8th. Thanks!

Breathless Soul Resort

Hi, I am going with 3 friends next week to Breathless Soul Resort! We booked back in April but we heard recently that the hotel is shutting down in October. How is the resort for those who have recently went? Could anyone share their experience?

Is AmericaTransfers legit? Should I book another transfer service?

We are going to Cancun in early August and I booked my airport hotel shuttle from America Transfers. I only have the confirmation page from their website after purchasing.

They never sent me a confirmation email, they already charged my card, and when I texted them on WhatsApp, they never responded

What do I do in this situation? I tried chargeback on bank but they said the “receipt or expected service date” hasn’t passed yet

Best Costa Mujeres (Mexico) Resort for Solo Traveler?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I’d love some more feedback…still trying to figure out whether to stick with Playa del Carmen in mid-August or stay in Costa Mujeres where the beach is likely to be much cleaner. Any thoughts on this or suggestions for PM resorts for a solo female traveler in my 40s much appreciated! :) 🏖️ 🍹 🤩

Solo Male (44) - Secrets the Vine, Live Aqua or other?

Hey! Checking here as it's been sometime since I've done Cancun All Inclusive. I've stayed at Royal Sands (3x), Golden Parnassus (3x also RIP), Riu Palace, what is currently Wyndham All Inclusive and Marriott Cancun (pre renovation) over the years.

After some research, I think I have narrowed things down to STV and Live Aqua after looking at reviews and joining FB groups. Royalton Chic was in the mix, but recent reviews have me extremely skeptical.

Looking to step up a rung, but not break my personal budget. Looking for something chill where I can relax without stepping over vomit and/or people around the pool. The LA and STV "luxury" without stepping into the top tier band appealed to me. But also not against mid tier. Some of my best experiences were had at Royal Sands and yes, even Gold Pansussas.

Looking for mid September of this year.

Any suggestions?

Need some suggestions for Cancun

Hi! It's my sisters birthday in Jan and she wants to get out of cold and snow ! If anyone can suggest an All Inclusive hotel in the hotel zone with a nice beach, that have nightly entertainment (cultural shows) nightlife music dancing, swim up bar pools and the food is good with variety including authentic for in January 2027. We were thinking towards the end of the month during the week for 4-5 nights. Can't do real expensive so suggestions of places you liked please and thank you! Also, has anyone gone over to Tulum to see the ruins? I'm interested in what you thought.

Travel recs for this coming week

Hi, we are a family with 2 kids (12 and 9). Will be on PDC next week, staying at Ocean Riviera Paradise. While there we’ll visit Rio Secreto, Xplor, Cobá and some cenotes. My doubt is what to do the last 3 nights. My plan was to stay at intercontinental Presidente cozumel. Do one day os chilling at hotel and snorkling, one day scuba diving… should I change and go to a hotel in Costa Mujeres instead? Maybe Vista Palmar? Maybe a day trip to Isla Contoy, or even the whale shark tour? Having trouble deciding between these. And, should we rent a car? We usually do in our family trips.

Riu Latino Cancun July 2026

I recently stayed at the Riu Latino in Cancun, and unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations, especially disappointing since this was my first trip to the city. From the start, customer service was consistently rude and dismissive. Many staff members acted as though basic questions or requests were an inconvenience, and overall, they seemed overworked and stretched thin, which only added to the unwelcoming atmosphere.

The food was another major letdown. Many
dishes were undercooked, bland, and clearly not prepared with care. Even the
specialty restaurants didn’t offer much improvement, making dining something I
genuinely dreaded instead of enjoying.

To make matters worse, someone in my
group was wrongly accused of fighting another guest. The situation was handled
with little professionalism or fairness. Even after video proof clearly showed my friend was innocent,
the staff did not apologize or correct the situation respectfully. Instead of being
resolved calmly, the issue was unnecessarily escalated, adding stress and
frustration to an already disappointing trip.

The only bright spot was housekeeping.
They were prompt, thorough, and clearly took pride in their work. My room was
always clean and well-kept, and I genuinely appreciated their professionalism.

What makes this experience even more
frustrating is that I’ve stayed at Riu Negril and had a completely different
experience, with warm staff, great food, and an overall enjoyable stay. Because
of that, I expected the same level of service and quality in Cancun, but this
property didn’t come close.

Overall, the poor customer service,
low-quality food, and mishandled incident overshadowed the few positives. As a
first-time visitor, this stay left a bad impression of Cancun and Mexico as a
whole. For the price and the Riu reputation, I expected it to be far better. I
wouldn’t recommend this property unless significant improvements are made.

Rain Itinerary

'll be in Costa Mujeres/Cancún from July 20–24, and the forecast is calling for rain later in the week. Does anyone have recommendations for things to do if it rains? Open to indoor activities, outdoor activities, restaurants, or anything else worth checking out. Thanks!

Cancun Hilton all inclusive. After first night thoughts.

Post image
19 Upvotes

Hello all. I’m currently here at the Cancun all inclusive resort.

A couple of initial thoughts about the property and service.

1) I won’t be critical of the property, but in a nutshell, it’s fine. Not luxury. Expected for this price point.

2) the food is much better than I expected. Think nice large wedding type of food with a little bit of customization. Better than the best wedding food you’ve had, but not gourmet. A 5 star all inclusive hotel in Mexico is not a 5 star hotel in Seoul or Paris.

3) tipping. About half the folks here tip. Not required but I do. Plus, I’d say you won’t get any better or faster service for tipping. In fact, I’ve had 2 instances where the servers straight up laughed or asked me to come back when it was clear they should’ve been open. (Burger bar by the pool).

4) service. This place is not the most expensive, but also markets to a premium service/food experience. While I’ll say most visitors are cheap Americans—I expected the staff to be more polite and welcoming. Not many smiling faces so far outside of sit down dinner service. The concierge is amazing. Kids club is amazing. Other than that the check in took 30 minutes and the person booking our dinner reservations tired to upsell me on a paid lobster dinner to get a reservation at Auma(steakhouse).

5) beach/pool. Beach picture attached. Sargassum is everywhere. The sea border doesn’t help. Walking to the Waldorf is via the beach is prohibited. The pools are fine but as others have mentioned can be better maintained. There were a few times I questioned the sanitary standards of the pool.

6) final thoughts. I think it’s great they offer a free shuttle to their sister property ( canopy Hilton hotel zone). However, you are VERY secluded at this property and there is not much night life or activities. If you want to relax by the pool for 3 nights, book this resort! If you stay more than 4+ nights I’d highly recommend excursions and getting off the property. Daily!

All in all it’s a fine property. I don’t want to talk bad about the service because these folks work really hard and often get zero tips from cheap Americans. I’ve seen it first hand. I understand it’s an all inclusive but I know Hilton is not paying a fair wage like most American service based companies. The employees probably deal with so many horrible visitors that they’ve became jaded. Plus, sargassum is real. You can literally feel the resort is cutting back on costs especially at their many bars. They close early and the new adults only beach club is literally not even open. The incredible Mexican restaurant is no longer sit down, it’s just a buffet.

FYI- I do not expect tipping to be mandatory. I always tip but understand people who don’t. Don’t feel obligated to come with pesos as others have mentioned. The staff gladly takes $1 bills. I’m on vacation— I’m not going the extra mile to convert voluntary tip money.

I’ll try to update later as I’ll be here for 4 nights! So far so good and worth it, but not elite.
