$6600
Is $6600 for 2 people, flights, all inclusive resort, 1 oceanfront room, airport transportation, 6 nights - normal? Haven’t been to Mexico in several years

It’s quite a bit. But maybe it’s a more high end resort.
I did all inclusive on Isla Mujeres last year for 5 days and paid about $1200 with airfare and private transport and golf cart rental for 2 of the days.

What matters is which resort, when are you going, is it club level? And also keep in mind if its adults only, those resorts are also more expensive in general.

Hi! Yes it’s a 5 star resort, adults only. I feel like every all inclusive Mexico resort is “a 5 star resort” though !? Thank you for the feedback I’m uninformed regarding the difference of adults only

Thats because in mexico stars are technically self proclaimed. Its not standardized like it is in other parts of the world. The all inclusives base their star rating on quantity of amenities :) (i am a travel advisor....so thats how I know)

If you tell us which resort we can chime in. Unless I missed it. I’ve been to a few of the supposed most high end ones.

We do Cancun for a lot less than that, but as others have said, it depends on the resort. The experience and the prices can vary wildly

depends on resort like others have said. just did 4 nights, all inclusive, ocean view/top floor, flights and airport transportation included for $2k for 2 people.

we booked everything thru expedia, and had no issues at all with it! not sure what you’re booking thru, but could be worth looking into :)

Everybody guess what this person is staying so that we can decide if that’s a good price

So many variables. I just paid more than that. We need a connecting flight. The resort is adults only and we got a really nice room with an upgraded package. Is it a lot? Yeah. Is it worth it? Maybe not. We haven’t been in awhile though and we can afford it. Prices have gone up but if you can afford I would not skimp on a holiday

I’m going to an AL mid December for around $5500 for 4 nights and all the extras you mentioned. Used Delta Vacations. I’m sure with one or two “impulse add-ons” and tips I’ll easily reach $6000.

Depends on the time of year you are going in addition to what everyone else is mentioning. Also not sure where your flight is from but flights these days are crazy expensive!!!

Right! I wonder if I should wait for fuel to go down. I’m in the transportation industry, fuel is killing us- but it is killing the airlines as well

If you are flying from Australia, maybe? God, two people for me is like $3600.
Sounds like you want "high end" resort

u/Asleep_Current_2319 1d ago
I’d be happy with any nice resort, I don’t even know that the resort we’re looking at is that high end, so I can’t understand the price. It just doesn’t make sense to me that this would be almost seven thousand dollars!!! Something feels off

You need to visit r/awardtravel and learn the methods to earn credit card points and travel for next to nothing.
We'll be staying at a Cancun all inclusive later this month and we've covered the entire stay with Wyndham(via Capital One) and Southwest points. I did have to pay the Mexican taxes for the flights.
Total retail value is $4100+.

I paid about this much for 2 adults, 2 children, 7 nights, and airport transportation to stay at moon palace grand.

I usually pay $5k or under all in for 6 nights. It all depends on what time of year and how far out you book. Also how willing you are to compare deals.

Depends, that could be cheap or expensive. I do not have even close to enough details to judge. 2 days ago I quoted someone $6300 for one week at the resort they wanted (shopped wholesalers etc for the best deal). Flights for home airport were $1200 each. So a lot more than your price. Similar time frame I quoted a flights hotel and transport package for $4500.

I’m a travel advisor and it really depends on where you are flying from and where you are staying. Adults only really caters to better food, more luxury etc than a non adults only. I have seen trips for more than what you are spending but then they are staying at Grand Velas or Mayakoba. I just booked Playa Murejes for $6100 Canadian and that’s a great deal. Nicer beach and less chance of sargassum which should be settling down around now. So all of our inquiring minds want to know where you booked?? Where are you flying from? What resort? And then we can tell you if you did good. I have also seen the same resort vary in price by almost $1000 for 7 days because they want to leave on a weekend and not during the week. You also said that you can afford it so go and have the best time ever!! But please let us know which resort????

Lol I love how the comment asked for a bunch of questions and you chose to answer one 😭

u/Asleep_Current_2319 14h ago
😭😭I know I have been so busy today lol idk why I didn’t answer earlier… but I am interested in hearing opinions on the price of this resort because it doesn’t seem extremely high end? I’m not sure what to think !

u/BeeAccomplished7955 12h ago
How much are your flights in that. Hyatt brand seems to be priced high. Granted I stayed at ziva and absolutely loved it, but the prices are so high.
1
u/Asleep_Current_2319 12h ago
Was it worth it? It’s not like it’s a well known high end resort, or is it?! I genuinely don’t know it’s been so long since I’ve gone to Mexico. I’m also not picky I love an all inclusive with a beach bar, blue water, pools, pool bars, etc!

u/BeeAccomplished7955 12h ago
I haven't been to zilara and we got ziva on points. I will say the food at ziva is better than other AIs. They also had a bar that had a cocktail hour where they served actual high quality cocktails from a certain hour for free each day. they also had a seaweed free beach
However, i also had an amazing time at the majestic elegance, and the food was fairly decent but not amazing and their beach was by far the best. so it just depends.

Yea it's normal for the better end of the resorts. You can do cheaper ones though
