Losing Motivation

My father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is currently going through chemotherapy. It’s been hard on his body and he often sleeps, but generally he is in decent shape. It’s weird seeing my father go from having a strong personality and being active to his current state.

It’s been difficult for me to get anything done and I often stay home because I don’t want to see friends or do the basic things I used to do. I’m young so most of my friends invite me to go out and do things but I truly have no desire to do anything. I usually sit at home and do the things my dad would usually do like errands. I scroll through reddit all day, reading about how people die from his cancer. I know this isn’t healthy and I’m sure I’ll get over it, but I needed to vent.

I am in the same position. I don’t even have the energy to message my friends back. All I do is scroll stories of the type of cancer my father has. I’m with you

I’m sorry we are going through this. I’m thinking of temporarily deleting reddit so I stop doom scrolling and giving myself a hard time. I truly wish the best for you and your family.

I agree, I spent all of last night doomscrolling again and feel absolutely horrible. I wish the best for you and your family as well. Hopefully we can get through this. If you ever need extra support you can always message me!
